the red hot chilli peppers snow (hey oh) Come to decide that the things that I tried were in my life just to get high on. When I sit alone, come get a little known But I need more than myself this time. Step from the road to the sea to the sky, and I do believe that we rely on When I lay it on, come get to play it on All my life to sacrifice. Hey oh... listen what I say oh I got your hey oh, now listen what I say oh When will I know that I really can't go To the well once more - time to decide on. Well it's kiliing me, when will I really see, all that I need to look inside. Come to belive that I better not leave before I get my chance to ride, Well it's killing me, what do I really need - all that I need to look inside. Hey oh... listen what I say oh Come back and hey oh, look at what I say oh The more I see the less I know The more I like to let it go - hey oh, woah... People need the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow, Finally divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go; Inbetween the cover of another perfect wonder and it's so white as snow, Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go. Ho! Went to descend to ammend for a friend of the channels that had broken down. Now you bring it up, I'm gonna ring it up - just to hear you sing it out. Step from the road to the sea to the sky, And I do belive what we rely on, When I lay it on, come get to play it on All my life to sacrifice Hey oh... Listen what I say oh I got your hey oh... listen what I say oh The more I see, the less I know The more I like to let it go - hey oh woah... People need the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow. Finally divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go Inbetween the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go. I said hey hey yeah oh yeah, tell my love now. Hey hey yeah oh yeah, tell my love now. People need the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow, Finaly divided by a word so undecided and there's nowhere to go. People need the cover of another perfect wonder where it's so white as snow... Running through the field where all my tracks will be concealed and there's nowhere to go. I said hey oh yeah oh yeah... tell my love now Hey yeah yeah... oh yeah. |

Half Man Half Biscuit - All I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague Away Kit There was one in the gang who had scalectrix and because of that he thought he was better than you every day after school youd go around there to play him hoping to compete for some kind championship And it always took about 15 billion hours to set the track up And even when you did, the thing never seemed to work It was a dodgy transformer, again and again. It was a dodgy transformer, again and again. It was a dodgy transformer, again and again. It was a dodgy transformer, that cost 3 pound 10. So he sent his doting mother up the stairs with the stepladder to get the Subbuteo out of the loft it had all the accessories required for that big-match atmosphere the crowd and the dugout the floodlights too and you'd always get palmed off with a headless center-forward and a goal-keeper with no arms and a face like his and he'd managed to get hold of a Dukla-Prague Away Kit 'cause his uncle owned a sport shop and he'd kept it to one side and after only five minutes you'd be down to ten men as hed sent off your right back for taking the base from under his left-winger come to half-time, you were losing, four-nil each and every goal, a hotly disputed penalty so you smash up the floodlights and the game was abandoned and the dog would bark and you'd be banned from his house and your travelling army of synthetic supporters would be taken away from you and thrown in the bin. and now he's working in a job with a future he hands me my Giro every two weeks. and me, I'm on the lookout for a proper transformer |

I know a girl she walks the asphalt world She comes to me and I supply her with Ecstasy Sometimes we ride in a taxi to the ends of the city Like big stars in the back seat like skeletons ever so pretty I know a girl she walks the asphalt world But where does she go? And what does she do? And how does she feel when she's next to you? And who does she love in time-honoured fur? Is it me or her? I know a girl she walks the asphalt world She's got a friend, they share mascara I pretend Sometimes they fly from the covers to the winter of the river For these silent stars of the cinema It's in the blood stream, it's in the liver I know a girl, she walks the bottom felt world But where does she go? And what does she do? And how does she feel when she's next to you? And who does she love in time-honoured fur? Is it me or is it her? With ice in her blood And a Dove in her head Well how does she feel when she's in your bed? When you're there in her arms And there in her legs Well I'll be in her head Cos that's where I go And that's what I do And that's how it feels when the sex turns cruel Yes both of us need her, this is the asphalt world The Asphalt World - Suede |

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen But do you recall The most famous reindeer of all Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say Rudolph with your nose so bright Won't you guide my sleigh tonight? Then how the reindeer loved him As they shouted out with glee Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer You'll go down in history Words & Music Gene Autry **thumbup |

Elton John has written some superb lyrics over the years From his Captain Fantastic album was a track "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" here's a snippet ""I never realised the passing hours Of evening showers A slip noose hanging in my darkest dreams I'm strangled by your haunted social scene Just a pawn outplayed by a dominating queen It's 4 o clock in the morning Damn It Listen to me good I'm sleeping with myself tonight Saved in time, thank God my music's still alive "" Also liked Rocket Man ""Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids In fact it's cold as Hell And there's no-one there to raise them with...if you did And all the science I don't understand It's just my job 5 days a week............a Rocket Ma- ah-ah -an ....a Rocket Man"" My job 5 days a week.....love it,Elton And check out most songs by legends The Who........particularly ""Who Are You"" I fell out of a Soho hole Where Policeman knew my name He said, you can go sleep at home tonight If you can get up and walk away I staggered back to the Underground And the breeze blew back my hair I remember throwing punches around and preaching from my chair Well, who are you,are you...Hoo Hoo Hoo Hoo........Well,Who the **** are you !! wtf** wtf** wtf** On a rythym and blues front ....Luther Vandross's "Never Too Much" has a terrific ryhming story to it And Stevie Wonder's "Black Man" from the Grammy winning album "Songs in the Key of Life" is a poignant reminder of the past racial injustice in America as well as a very interesting history lesson and the building of a nation (The United States) by men of all creeds Stevie was famous for his protest songs but this song was just awesome even for the research that went into it Main Chorus "We pledge allegiance all our lives To the magic colours Red,Blue and White But we must ALL be given The Liberty that we defend For with justice not for all men History will repeat again It's time we learned This world was 'Made for All Men' """ But for me personally, the ultimate lyric from an entire song,IMO I think Don Maclean's American Pie (a fine tribute to Buddy Holly) seriously takes some beating ""And the three men I admire the most The Father,Son and the Holy Ghost They caught the last train for the coast The day the music died "" ""So Bye,Bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevvy to the Levy But the Levy was dry And good ole' boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye Singing this will be the day that I die ......."" PS.......(I have the entire 8 minute lyric if anyone needs it....I'll try to dig it up,just have to find it ) ...let me know feed.back |

Bob dylan is a lyrical genius Maggies farm Well, I try my best To be just like I am, But everybody wants you To be just like them. They sing while you slave and I just get bored. Like a rolling stone Once upon a time you dressed so fine You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall" You thought they were all kiddin' you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging for your next meal. http://bobdylan.com/songs/ |

Elton has never written a lyric, Partisan. Your quotes and 95% of all Elton's songs - the words are by Bernie Taupin. Which doesn't make them any less appealing. **thumbup |

I stand corrected .....Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics on all the Captain Fantastic songs as the album was a story of their lives growing up ....Elton (The sophisticated Captain) and Bernie a country boy from Lincolnshire ( The Brown Dirt Cowboy) But E J , I believe, wrote all the music.........they were a team just as Lennon and Mccartney were |

Camper Van Beethoven always make perfect sense to me. Every day, I get up and pray to Jah And he decreases the number of clocks by exactly one Everybody's comin' home for lunch these days Last night there were skinheads on my lawn Take the skinheads bowling Take them bowling Take the skinheads bowling Take them bowling Some people say that bowling alleys got big lanes Some people say that bowling alleys all look the same There's not a line that goes here that rhymes with anything I has a dream last night, but I forget what it was I had a dream last night about you, my friend I had a dream--I wanted to sleep next to plastic I had a dream--I wanted to lick your knees I had a dream--it was about nothing |

I didn't want to post all the lyrics but I just had too . . . Maybe I dont really want to know How your garden grows I just want to fly Lately did you ever feel the pain In the morning rain As it soaks it to the bone Maybe I just want to fly I want to live I dont want to die Maybe I just want to breath Maybe I just dont believe Maybe youre the same as me We see things theyll never see You and I are gonna live forever Maybe I dont really want to know How your garden grows I just want to fly Lately did you ever feel the pain In the morning rain As it soaks it to the bone Maybe I will never be All the things that I want to be But now is not the time to cry Nows the time to find out why I think youre the same as me We see things theyll never see You and I are gonna live forever Were gonna live forever Gonna live forever Live forever Forever. Live Forever by Oasis. Still the best song I have ever heard by my favourite band of all time. |
