Wahey...it's a favourite course thread now. The Rolls Of Monmouth, set in the estate that formely belonged tp Charles Rolls, 18th has to be the greatest 18th I've played. I was a member at www.westmidlandsgolfclub.co.uk for a couple of years. I think it has the only island green in the country. Worst course has to be Hatchford municipal . It just holds too many bad memories of my early efforts. I remember one paritcular day when I was struggling to to get out of a greenside bunker, an Irish guy on a nearby tee shouted over 'would yer loyke ta borrow ma JCB mate? A real condor moment. |

TBH i like my local club. South Essex. Most of the holes are up hill and on the 7th you get a cracking view of London. Las time i played there was after an argument with "her indoors" i put 3 balls out of bounds of the first tee and went round in some stupid amount of shots. Pulled my back as well. Saw and adder and got chased by Geese. great day all in all! |

when i lived in brum i started playing at rose hill (lickey hills) and cocksmoor wood at kings heath. to play the lickeys you had to have legs like a mountain goat, you NEVER got a flat lie even on the f'in tees.... warley was pretty poor, more divots on greens that fairways, and harborne was ropey on sunday mornings too, with so many balls flying about past your head... |

i played coxmoor the other week with my dad. We were on the 13th green and the party behind us teed off and this guys drive hit another bloke in the nuts who had, for some reason, strolled onto the 13th tee. The ball didn't even bounce twas a direct hit. |

the way he dropped to the floor it thought he'd had a heart attack. It was quite funny watching the entire course all rush towards this old man lying crippled in agony on the floor. (obviously therewas concern, but when you saw all was alright the tears of laughter started to roll. I assume after he got up he was playing four balls. I think the guy who hit him in the nuts took a drop! After all that my game improved. |

 Thats because you've probably followed me around the course! It has got that comedy Par 4 (hole 6 I think) where the green is about 100 foot lower than the green. Never sure whether to use an iron or a putter from the tee! Then the next hole is back up the hill side completely unsighted until you're basically on the green! Thats the hole I tend to take double figures on. I'm only round the corner from Warley Woods, so I tend to go there if I'm feeling lazy. |
