When Trevor got sacked in 2001 we had played 11 league games....and got 17 points. we currently have 18 points and have an away game next. A defeat in our next game(11th league game) will have us one point better of than Trevor's team, will the board take the same kind of action and sack the manager as they did in 2001?

Its time us fans learnt a few hard lessons.

Our board know more about football than any of us.

Our board knows whats best for us.

Our board picks the music us fans dance to it.

If we don't support the boards decisions it proves we don't deserve them.

Bruce ain't going nowhere because Fleet Street will HOWL and HOWL yet again with laughter. About the Gold's and Sullivan.

Especially the Mail & Express.

Our board have been brilliant for us but if they really know more about football than any of us mere supporters we are in some serious trouble.

I would also argue that if they keep ignoring the fans then they don’t deserve us. You cannot run any business, or government, purely on pandering to public opinion but there comes a point where if you don’t listen to your ‘customers’ there is only one way the business is heading and it is not up.

The way the club has been run in recent times they have lost the confidence of their customer base, hence the 18,000 gate. The board have to do something positive quickly to turn confidence around.

one startling fact however from the Bruce v Francis argument that i've found...over the 5 home games each from the respective seasons, Bruce's home games yeilded at least 20'000 more spectators over the five games!!! and haven't lost a home match!!

where as Trev had lost two.

however defeat at Luton would mean Steve has just one more point from his 11 games................. is this good enough??

Blues 2 Colchester 1...............Wimbledon 3 Blues 1 (9th)
Sunderland 0 Blues 1................Blues 4 Millwall 0
Stoke 0 Blues 0 ......................Walsall 1 Blues 2
Blues 2 Palace 1 .........................Blues 2 Stockport 1
Cardiff 2 Blues 0 ( c 1st)...............Blues 2 Sheff Wed 0
Blues 2 Hull 1..............................Man City 3 Blues 0 (1st)
QPR 0 Blues 2 ..............................Blues 2 Burnley 3 (7th)
Blues 2 Ipswich 2..........................Preston 1 Blues 0 (8th)
Leeds 3 Blues 2 (c 20th)....................Watford 3 Blues 3
Blues 1 Leicester 1..........................Crewe 0 Blues 0
Luton V Blues??.................................Blues 3 Barnsley 1
18 points??? ........................................17 points
goals for 14.........................................goals for 19
goals against 11..................................goals against 16
.........................................................Four Defeats, all against teams that finsihed top ten

The difference being that under Francis we had won 6 games and under Bruce 5 with the rest of the points being made up from draws.

Trevor Francis got sacked after 11 games because in the previous 4 seasons he had only managed to get us into the play offs then fall at the first hurdle. When he was sacked we were sitting in 13th place looking like a mid table team.

After 10 games, Bruce now has 1 more point from fewer games. He won't be sacked because in his last 4 seasons he has delivered Premiership football and is looking decent for an immediate return.

FFS stop all this Bruce out twaddle. Its getting us nowhere. Stop undermining what the majority want andwhat the club are trying to achieve.

compare the money spent (including wages)

Including wages isn't right as the salaries drawn by footballers have gone up drastically since Francis was here so it isn't a fair comparison.

SB is managing the most expensive squad in the division, which is a luxury that TF never had.

I'm sure you could work out the "relative" spend k-bek - if you really wanted to accept that the amount spent on wages actually counts (which you have demonstrated time and time again you don't).

By the way, Francis was sacked after getting us into the play offs three years running and reaching a major cup final the season before; so why should Bruce keep his job after yielding 28 goals from 38 league games and being humiliated 7-0 at home in a major cup competition? And no, this isn't an argument for why Francis should have kept his job - if that wasn't good enough, I can't see how Bruce's "achievements" last season should be considered acceptable.

Apart from Cardiff and with the pack so close to each other now it would only take a couple of bad results for Blues to slip alarmingly down the table.

when he does go, and the writing is on the wall K-Bek, i'm gonna shed a tear for you.

a defeat at Luton and any kind of Lacklustre performance against managerless Norwich and Brucie's career at Blues will be hanging by a thread i fear :boohoo:

I woujld say both were great players and below average managers, they were right to get rid of TF when they did, Bruce should have gone before Christmas last year.

The quicker he goes this season the better and it is just a matter of time.

Trevor Francis did have more tactical knowhow.

Apart from penalty shoot-outs! what was he thinking! I blame him for everything if he had done better we wouldn't have Bruce! It's all Francis' fault!

Sorry bit of a ramble! Personally I think they're both as bad as each other - although Trev was a better player!

It's slightly unfair to hang the "most expensive" tag on Bruce. He has the most expensive squad in this division because, unlike Francis, he got the club to the pot of gold. Yes he got them relegated also, I am well aware of that, but it's as if some people want it both ways, Francis didn't get the "backing" Bruce has had, because he never put the club in a position where they could eat from the big money table.
