suppose Brucie got the chop today and Curbishly came to us,
Curbishly struggles to get us us going and we finish in the bottom half,
then Brucie goes to Norwich and gets them going and gets them back in the prem,
how would you all feel then,
scenario yes but its what could happen.

I agree, whilst we are fighting for promotion, i cant see how we can get rid off Brucey.

I still feel tho that with the squad we have we can play as poor as we like but against 85% of the teams in this league we will still always have enough to either sneak a win or draw regardless of poor tactics or players in the wrong positions.

Imo that has nothing at all to do with the managers quality its a simple fact that pound for pound the players we have are far superior on a whole than most other squads, this in turn will help us for the immediate future but not longterm if we do get back up.

They could imo be a real force in this division if they started to play aful 90 mins as a unit and with direction and a system.

KRO come may we will be where we need to be no matter what the performances are like

It would be just our luck, wouldn't it

The trouble with thinking too much about the likely outcome of a scenario is you never act. We seem to be stuck in a loop where we are too scared to do anything in case things get worse, it has happened for the last 12 months.

If as you say whoever Bruce went to does better than we do it would be something we would have to live with. We know Bruce can get a team to play, because he did it for us, but we also know he has lost the plot over the last 18 months or so.

A change might do him some good just like a new manager would give us a boost and solve a lot of our short term problems. Supporters would come back and the atmosphere would improve because we would all be expectant again. At the moment we are in a Groundhog Day situation and the cycle needs to break.

Then i'd say, well done and good luck Norwich! Knowing full well Curbs was rebuilding Blues for the better.

I'd still be convinced that in the long term we would be better off. I'm not bothered about the short-term consequences and I'd be happy to spend a season or two in this league if it was the foundation on which a successful Premiership campaign was built.

Just imagine if 12 months ago Bruce had got the chop instead of people talking about "sticking with what you know" and "give him more time". Worst-case scenario? We'd have been relegated - oh, look what happened, and that's ignoring that wonderful night in March when we lost 7-0 at home in our first FA Cup Quarter Final in 22 years.

Yes, let's switch from "blame the players", "give him more time", "no one else is available", etc etc to "what if he went and the worst happened?"

Interesting point bought up on another message board: when things are bad, why do we blame the players (like last season's relegation), but when they're good we laud the manager to the skies (like promotion in 2002 or survival the following year)? And why are people accused of having short memories about 2001 when the accusers can't remember 2005 or 2006?

we have the foundation imo - we don't yet have the right mix to bring it all together and that's showing in results. i'm of the opinion sb should go if curbs would come ( no reason why the board can't talk to him, he's not in contract ) and give him (or someone else suitable) the same money time and effort sb and tf enjoyed..

Another scenario. They talk to Curbs, and Curbs says he's not interested. That's Bruce's job completely undermined while he's still in it, and sends a message to all potential managers that we have a board that will go behind their backs if they think they can find someone else.

That's a recipe for disaster right there.

Some serious straw clutching

That scenario would be highly unlikely but even if it did unfold that way...Curbs would have us back in the PL in 2008 with his very own side and SB would be relegated with his Norwich City team after signing Heskey,Dwight Yorke,Gronkjaer and Pandiani

Actually it's not as far fetched as it sounds because Delia Green knows more about making a shepherd's pie or a lasagne than football anyway..........At least ""'Wor We Huffed and Puffed"" wouldn't go hungry at Carrow Road
