Why Doyle? Why McSheffrey out of the position he's played so well in? |

David Dunn left wibgback? i do believe the correct phrase is 'Taxi for 78blues'! I can see what you're getting at, but the logic in your team selection escapes me. I do believe that change is needed, and that should begin with the tactics, and personel we employ in those tactics before anything else.Should change adorn the St. Andrews dressing room with all its splendour, its intention must be none other than to restore equiliibrium. At present the side represents a cocktail of managerial mishaps, and any tactical alternative must aim to correct these shortcomings. ...At back 3 could serve us well, with Jaidi, Bruno and dare i say it, Olivier 'the Terrible' steadying the ship. That would then allow us to deploy attack-minded wingbacks, in the knowledge that we have an extra body in defence. Perhaps the greatest advantage of playing with 3 centrehalves in the variety it offers in terms of the positioning of the remaining outfield players: 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 3-6-1. Each one of these systems has its strengths, and perhaps more favourably, can morph into another with relative ease. ...Its clear to me, that the 4-4-2 is carrying the ship as we may have hoped, and now more than ever, Bruce needs to break away from the conventional, ala Jose Mourinho in times of need (His 3-5-2 trump card, when all else fails) and seek solitude in pastures new! |

On the subject of Upson I'd be reluctant to play him unless he's fully commited to playing out the season for us. N'Gotty and Jaidi have played together for a few years at Bolton and now here and they have an understanding and I don't see the point in upsetting the applecart by bringing Upson in, though he is the best centre-back at the club, for a couple of months if he's going to be off at the first opportunity because let's be honest if he hadn't got injured he'd been out of the door before Heskey and Pennant. |

I bet Sadler thought the same thing before the season started. Wake up and realise that this is not an easy division! |

Which equates to being a wing back. You can't play 3 at the back without wing backs, there'd be absolutely no protection down the sides of the pitch. |
