Yes, rest our best player. Great idea.
Play Forssell who is no longer the player he was. Great idea.

Yes lets rest the top scorer and play Forse who is a shadow of his former self, we can't score enough goals to win games as it is now. "no"

I'd like forsell to start, in the reserves. Everytime he's played he's looked lazy (possibly down to fitness, not attitude) and no way does he warrent a start over Bendtner who wouldn't need a rest after a 2 week break

Forssell isn't lazy, he just can't move anymore because of his knee. He toils because of that reason. Send him to viler to play with Sutton

This makes me laugh! Forssell = Heskey.

Heskey couldn't score, Neither can Forssell. The only difference is this time Bruce is leaving Forssell on the bench as apposed to starting him every game like Heskey.

So now there are suddenly people wanting Forssell to play? If Forssell had been starting everyone would have been like 'Bruce out, Forssell is rubbish'.

do u realise bendtner will play both games for denmark in the international break? So then u are asking an 18 year old to play 5 games in 17 days

(Leicester, 2 for denmark, luton, then norwich).

Its just not possible at international level and our level for someone so young. Get real. The guy needs a break before he gets injured. Give jerome and forssell a go together.

So then why are we dropping Campbell exactly?

because i dont rate him at all. i must be wearing those glasses again, he's just not good enough to be honest. forssell and jerome are better players.

Likely reply 'but campbell is playing ok'

Yes that because bruce has given him a chance to play.

I agree that Campbell isnt AS good as Forssell or Jerome.

Although, Campbell works 100% everytime, he runs more than any other striker he gets behind the defence and into space and it works.

Andy Johnson isn't exactly very skillful, neither is Jermain Defoe although like Campbell they are both pacy and both get into space. They're in the top ranks of English Strikers at the moment.

Everyone needs a Campbell, an AJ etc... to play with the skillfull likes of Forssell, Jerome or Bendtner.

the previous post wasnt meant for a pot shot at DJ Campbell. (He tries but has no footballing brain which will prove his downfall im afraid). The point is that bendtner cannot possibly play 5 games in 17 days and still expected to be playing his skilful football.

We've seen what happens when players play too much, too young (Owen, Dyer, Gerrard in younger days, Jeffers). The reason i said jerome and forssell was that i think they'd make a good partnership. Pace, power, skill, and speed of thought. At the moment we look light up front and jerome and forss will give us much need power and clinical finishing too.

Bendtner needs a big rest

Think you're right on that one, give him a rest when he comes back from international duty.. It will be an 'unforced' and timely chance for Forsell to make an impact. He MAY even score an get some of that confidence back.

We finally get a player capable of getting 20 goals a season and people are crying out for him to be rested- you couldnt make it up.

Bendtner and DJC are in the team because they have played well together and deserve their shot. Jerome has been unlucky as he has got goals when he has played, and forssell has in all honestly been poor all season.

Competition is the best way of getting the best out of your strikers and the ones in form are the ones that should play.

On the subject of DJC- yes he is very raw but the kid is playing the 'clinton morrison role' and is making the runs that players like forssell and Bentdner wouldnt make.

If it was as simple as putting the 2 best strikers in the world together then shevchenko and drogba would have gelled. Its no surprise that shevchenko played so well with rebrov and kaka-both players who dont get many goals but do the dirty work.

forssell and jerome should get their chance when they prove they are worth one.

why not play him until he's exhausted and then rest him, rather than rest him when he's not exhausted.

Because the more tired they get, more chance of injury, can we risk losing him for 6 weeks or resting him for 1/2?

BENDTNER DROPS BLUES HINT

Nicklas Bendtner admits he would rather stay at Birmingham City, than return to play for Arsenal's reserves.

The Denmark international is on loan at St Andrews until January, having been allowed out by Arsene Wenger to gather first-team experience.

Arsenal have the option of recalling the striker in the New Year, although Birmingham hope to keep Bendtner for the rest of the season.

Bendtner has scored five goals for Blues and Steve Bruce is anxious for the 18-year-old not to return to North London.

Bruce's wish could be fulfilled as the promising hot shot concedes he does not want to go back to Arsenal to be on the periphery.

"It's Arsenal who decide," Bendtner told Ritzau.

"But I know that they will not call me back unless they have at least got a place for me in the A squad.

"I will not go back to play for the reserves.

"The least that I should get is a place on the bench."

Lets hope and pray, however unrealistic it may be, that Wenger tells Nik that he cannot guarentee him a place at Arsenal, and we are fortunate!! :drink:
