like i said write or email the club, comments like sack the announcer are not going to get you anywhere... it was changed for a reason, whatever that may have been i do not know, but i can't see anyone being re-instated, a change was made and thats it. However i am sure the new guy is open to new idea's and so try putting those in your letter/email, i am sure positive idea's and comments would go a lot further.

Another thing, why does he say 'and now back to the commentor box?

From what I can work out, there is one guy who stands inbetween the dugouts with his own microphone and makes announcments such as the squad lists, substitutions and the occasional 'Sponsored by Flybe.com' then there's someone else in the 'Commentry Box' who is in charge of music etc.

It was great to hear the classic Keep Right On blasting away I can tell you. All this tamperer stuff does get the crowd going, but playing Keep Right On from the early 90's era just makes you feel so proud to be a blues fan.

plenty of people have emailed the club about the music and we've all had the same bog standard reply.

Whereas listening to the tannoy at West Ham - they played Forever Blowing Bubbles and the crowd joined in, then the music faded to leave it with just the fans. Brilliant atmosphere. I remember when we used to do that with Keep Right On. :(

What exactly happened with the old announcer...Keith?

He was great. I liked the way he said the away teams players really quickly so they had no time to cheer for them!

Tell all Willeee =]

I know nothing apart from its not been the same since he resigned.

Tell you what if you really want to know why not ask Perry Deakin? he seems to think the pre match routine is fine. :silence:

Hell would seem sweet and dandy in his head.

I think we should do a march in protest =]

And come on, you know more! Resigned? Forgiven? Spill those beans!

This was discussed a lot on a number of the other message boards, if you are able to look.

If I remember correctly, among other things, Keith was getting more and more unhappy about the things the club were asking him to say - sponsored bookings etc.

Wasn't that his job?

If the club were asking for him to prostitute himself to the St.Andrews crowd then you could understand it...but...

I have said this before. There was a poll last year to choose the music. Having reached a verdict democratically whoever is in charge of the matchday music has decided that the fans decision is not the right one. The word dictatorship springs to mind. I wouldnt mind but the choice of pre match music is awful....and I dont know anyone who has a good word for it.
Come on admin..pass on our views to whoever is responsible.,.. and at least give us some feedback.

I did notice that when Mat Upson walked on the pitch at half-time the PA didn't ask him how his injury was going or anything as Keith Laurent and SkyDaz used to. It's as if the guy doesn't have a clue about the goings on at the club.

Come on, at least get somebody in who shows that he knows something about the club when the players they walk on the pitch. We'll probably find that he's the son of the chief exec at Capital Radio or something, I can't see any other reason why he's in the job.

Did anyone else notice that as the teams came out the tunnel before the game the announcer said here they are the teams of West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City. Thought we were the home team. I know that he always announces the away team first when reading out the teams, but to announce them first as they came out the tunnel I thought was a joke.

Music is a joke and embarrasing. The pre-match music played at Cardiff was better, I was impressed by the effort that was made to play the stuff related to BCFC

Going tonight really looking forward to apparantly 5,000 blue noses going
