Did we not watch Southend last night ?

Where was the passion, where was the drive ?

They should be docked their wages for that tonight

Jerome, Campbell, Danns, Nafti just can't cut the mustard.

What a terrible midfield

No atmosphere whatsoever cos the team gave them nothing to get passionate about.

Did we really want to progress in this competition, it didn't look like it to me.

Better to have had the week off and get ready for Saturday.

Nafti should never ever put the shirt on again.

Glad I was unable to get there

It really did seem like a Premiership match from last year didn't it.

I look to the future, and if we go back up i can see a tougher season next than the 02-03 season because the fans have seen it all before.

I can't bloody believe I'm hearing this!

We played Liverpool, a team which generally finishes in the top 5 of the Premiership and have won the FA cup and the Champions League in recent years.

We have a team with a lot of championship players, DJ Campbell (didn't get much prem experiance), Jerome, Mcsheffrey, Danns, Larsson, Bendtner, Muamba (last 3 havn't had much prem experiance).

Yet we walk away conceeding only 1 goal. A goal which was pretty flukey and was scored from a corner. To me that's an Acheivement.

As for Nafti. Was fine in the first half.

Liverpool had their second eleven out and still we were not a threat.

You are joking of course.
THAT Liverpool side never won anything that I'm aware of.
Southend showed how to do it last night
Nafti was SO negative all the time he was on, if he wasn't passing it backwards he was giving it to red shirts.
Southend are a championship side mate. Their crowd was up for it because their players went about the game with some sort of commitment, I saw no commitment from anyone in a blue shirt tonight, apart from Larsson and he deserves a chance now on Saturday for being the only starting player to turn up.

Take off the blue-tinted specs.

Why did we not field our best squad? Its no good trying to bring them on as subs. On of the strikers subbed of should of stayed on with Bendtner coming on for the other, Nafti should of come off (he was unable to pass the ball 2 yards with accuracy and the rest of the time he ran around in circles) with Mcsheffrey replacing him.
To me it seemed as though we did not want to win, we played about 70mins of hoof ball, we even played it when we had DJC on the field who is hardly the best player to hoof a ball to considering his size.
The officials tonight were appaling, we should of had a free kick on the edge of the box, or even a pen. Scousers should not of been given a pen because Jaidi got a toe to the ball.

What is the object of the game?? I believe its 2 win the players didnt look like they if they wanted 2 win they never showed any passion, desire and so on there was no atmosphere apart from when we sang a half hearted kro after 65mins.

I love the optimism of most Blues fans.

Look, we don't do things the easy way so why will that change this season. We'll get into the play-offs at best and who knows what will happen then.

Nafti looked good today for me. Quick, aggressive, won a lot of clean tackles, kept possession and calmed play down for us. I think he showed enough to warrant a starting place this weekend, he was the classiest defender on field.

Muamba was anonymous when he came on. I can see why Nafti reacted the way he did to being taken off. In all fairness, he thanked the fans too.

He looks quicker, stronger and more muscular. **thumbup

I can't believe no one has mentioned Sadler. He was shocking. Aside from all the miskicked balls... we had a full on counter attack where we could of broke into the box, he ran half heartedly down the wing, only had to beat one man, but so skill-less that he turned back and passed to a defender. That is UNBELIEVEABLE, any other left back with confidence would of driven it all the way to the goal... it was a great opportunity and he didn't want to take it.

Kelly, Sadler, Gray were all shocking for me.

Jaidi looked very solid and calm today. Bruce has to work on making him more mobile, maybe losing unnecessary muscle, he doesn't use his power in his play... no point in it, IMO.

I think we desperately need two new full backs in the transfer market. Kelly was anonymous and Sadler was just shocking... worse than Clapham. Despite Clapham being slow he could at least deliver a ball.

Why is everyone so negative here, it's you lot who are Pathetic!

5 straight wins, 4 in the leaguge, 4 away, 4 without conceeding... OMG We loose to LIVERPOOL!! Shock horror, Bruce out!!

Our defence was excellent and battled until the end, Liverpool had so many shots blocked. The midfield was great, Larsson in particular. Jerome got past the liverpool defence a few times.

As for Nafti, he must have done at least 10 blocks today. In particularly on Pennant's corners. And as for passing to the opposition I don't know where that has came from because that didn't happen, Jaidi yes but not Nafti.

Dudek, Agger, Paletta, Pennant, Sissoko, Alonso, Zenden, Bellamy, Kuyt... all class players, this was a very strong Liverpool side.

I think we desperately need two new full backs in the transfer market. Kelly was anonymous and Sadler was just shocking... worse than Clapham. Despite Clapham being slow he could at least deliver a ball.
