i know some of you call me boring boring maulley but i cant believe some of you are having a go at the team because you lost to liverpool. what ever team they put out it is still liverpool with loads of experiance etc. the run blues are currently on in the league is exceptional so why dont you get behind the team, get behind bruce and cheer them on to the premiership where you all belong. you lost 1-0 to one of the biggest most respected sides in europe for gods sake in a cup that really is not that important. stop bloody moaning and go for it.
boring boring maulley. KRO.

Agreed.

So what is the general opinion in this thread because it seems that there is alot of ducking and diving going on. Did we play well in this game (exclude who the opposition were what was OUR preformance like i.e. passing tackling ect)? Are people saying that the loss is ok because the league is more important and we should save our selves for the 'bigger' game at the weekend?

Im not having a go, just saying that it appears to be that people are happy with the loss because it was 'just' a cup game. So let me put it slightly different for people to think about: If that game was a final and the season was over would you say you were happy with the 1-0 loss?

We played ok, we lost, we need to live with it and get on with promotion

I agree with Maulley I can't understand why people are moaning

I actually thought it was a decent performance and that is why I was so surprised when I got home after the match and read this thread. The majority of the crowd stood and applauded the team off at the end, although I must admit I heard a few people booing, but I thought that was directed at the ref. On the way out, most people were talking about it being a good match and that we played well, but were beaten by a better team.

The display of the team, in my opinion, in no way reflects the criticism that has been made by some people.

I watched the game on TV and thought we were absolutly awful .... no passion, no desire, no skill!!

It was hoof ball to the two up front who were out jumped 9 times out of 10.

Our counter attacking is poor, and generally i see no reason why we'd get automatic promotion this season. God help us if we did get propmoted as it could be embarassing!!

Dont understand why everyone is raving about Nafti he was poor/average at best! But on saying that i dont think any one excelled in the game.
Lets hope we see the team that we know we are play at the weekend, with some big preformances from all the players. I have been largly dissapointed with nafti so far, but if i see the preformances from him then my opinion will change.

Gray-1... don't get me started

I think 1 out 0f 10 is being very generous.

I think Julian Clary would have done a better job. The sooner this Clown is shipped out the better. A complete waste of a shirt. :(

Last night Campbell and Jerome terrible. Both look as if they are playing a division above their true status.

Gray plays with no effort yet again. I thought DS in the close season that anyone who is not interested will be shipped out. Gray must fit into this category surely.

Their back four was a makeshift one, they had not won away from home all season they hadn't scored an away goal apart from a penalty all season so far. You tell me this was a mighty Liverpool side ?The club has won all those trophies with different teams at different times, the club is steeped in history and triumph. Last night they were there to be beaten by any team who played with a little bit of nous and a degree of committment and skill.

if you class that as a disgraceful performance, against a team full of class, quality players, I dont know how you would of thought against teams like Leeds away!! I thought we played well, we were bossing the game until Alonso come on, then they started to try and take control but we didnt let them.

i agree with you as far as the league cup is concerned maybe liverpool were there for the taking. when arsenal came to the hawthorns they bought a reserve team and were still different class to the albion. but they still play for a premiership club who train like a premier club and train with premiership players and it rubs off.
albion and blues are not going to be in a position to challenge arsenal and liverpool over a full premiership season for the forseeable future but there is no reason why we cant do a bolton or charlton.thats why i say forget the league cup and win promotion. and this time maybe we will both stay there longer.
regards, maulley.

Did we not watch Southend last night ?

Where was the passion, where was the drive ?

They should be docked their wages for that tonight

Jerome, Campbell, Danns, Nafti just can't cut the mustard.

What a terrible midfield

No atmosphere whatsoever cos the team gave them nothing to get passionate about.

Did we really want to progress in this competition, it didn't look like it to me.

Better to have had the week off and get ready for Saturday.

Nafti should never ever put the shirt on again.

Glad I was unable to get there

Do you ever get there?

Liverpool played a reserve team and were still different class!

a couple of years ago we were competing with and beating their first team.

Who has gone backwards? Us or them?

We're not a premiership outfit anymore, and as if to enforce the reality of our exclusion from England's elite, Bruce has filled our coffers to the brim with championship quality players. The gulf in class was effervescent. The way our defence was bypassed like Graeme Sounness arteries was disgraceful. Theres talk of our defence having been shored up on this site, such is the height our ambition, that we demand little more than mistimed tackles and good old-fashioned roastings from our back four. In the meantime, Micah Richards and Leighton Baines, youth products from our Northen counterparts, toy with England call-ups!

Yes thank you shrew for the last 35 years. Can you not cope with people who have differing opinions to yourself then that you feel you need to question their loyalty ??

I'm extremely happy being a Blues fan but my expectations of them are just higher and I felt that we should have had a right good go at them instead of surrendering before we even started really.
