Hi guys I have been sitting quietly watching and listening to blues matches right from the start of the season till now and i for one am really happy with the way blues are playing atm. Yes, i agree last nights performance was a bit woeful and bit lacking in effort, but i bet you if u asked any blues fan in the world what he/she would prefer of a blues win against barnsley or win against liverpool they would say barnsley because the league is that much more important The players are now starting to show great potential imo, such as Danns, Mcsheffrey, Bendtner and Muamba. I also think Maik Taylor is playing the best football in years for the blues and that can only be a good sign for the club. Overall i think the club is going in the right direction but thats just IMHO and i know all you fellow blues fans will have different opinions and i will glady listen to them but i am just voicing mine out. Steve Bruce has done a great job here and may long it continue as i would still be happy to have him as manager in 5, 10 years time. Adam Keep Right On |

Agree, we are building a good young team and Maik Taylor is playing really well, Barnsley is the big one like you say, I'd much rather beat them than the scouser's. **thumbup |

""' ------------------------------------------- Fervently diasgree, mate Steve Bruce has done an absolutely woeful job in the last 2 and a half years and it is high time we ALL stopped kidding ourselves (including the board of directors at the club) and replace him and Black with more tactically nous personnel When Kenny Cunningham, who was a great defender for us over 4 seasons left the club with the cloud of controvesy hanging over the club with regards to the behind the scenes discontent then I thought ""Ah,Kenny it sounds like sour grapes" but the more I look at what he wrote the more I'm convinced Bruce has lost the respect of most of his players as well as many supporters........and the training ground discontent has often rubbed off on the pitch this season 21,000 v The Baggies and 23,000 v the most successful club side in England only underline that...........Damien Johnson was well pee'd off at being subbed,as was Nafti last night,as was Forssell recently and as was David Dunn last season at Man City (a decision that still baffles the hell out of me even today) Forssell,Dunn and Upson have ALL hinted they might leave the club......Clemence even thought of quitting ....and Jerome,Kilkenny and Danns have all voiced their protests at being overlooked this season Behind the scenes at St Andrews I would guess deep down there is very little optimism ...aftter the Leicester,Leeds,Luton and Norwich games SB should hva e been fired....a mini revival did NOT dispell the lingering fears I've always had deep down I stiill think we face MASSIVE heartache and disappointment this season ....we have a pretty talented sqaud but NO quality leadership,NO ideas ON the field and absolutely NO motivation The time has come for CHANGE .........the only people that can do that are Mr Sullivan and The Golds ..........Contrary to what Mr Bruce WANTS to believe,a good proportion of Blues fans are just NOT happy at the moment I just wished Newcastle Utd would hurry up and fire Roeder and come knocking on our door......he might well go this time and I ,for one, would be ecstatic .....just MHO KRO |

A very good summary Partisan, which outlines the situation for an increasing number of Blues fans, and the patience is very quickly running out. As you say, the damage has been done over the last couple of seasons and a bit, damage which is irreversible imo. And it's not just about results and performance, it is about Bruce's attitude, stubborness, arrogance and contempt for the fans, that get up a lot of peoples noses. ps I wouldn't hold your breath about Newcastle, or any other club for that matter, showing any interest |

Agree Partisan, but no Prem club with any sense will come in for Bruce, unlike some, most chairman in the Prem will have taken note of his last two years work in the Prem and will come to one conclusion, Bruce is not a Prem quality manager just like his mate B.Robson, so i think we are stuck with him, until Brentford or the like make a bid :P |

Excellent idea, bornblues64 Do Brentford have their own website ?? Is Martin Allen still their coach or did he get fired ??? Brentford will never achieve much 'cause the players can't hear the shouts from the dugout with all those bloody jets flying overhead into Heathrow every 30 seconds Mind you, didn't they pip us to the old Third Division title in 1992 when we managed to lose 3 of our last 4 games ?? Typical Blues,eh ?? I think SB would do a great job at Brentford ....they are about his barrel and he could call himself The Bees Knees ....they're nicknamed 'The Bees' aren't they ?? Plus he could take DJ Campbell back there with him......and maybe Julian Gray too I'm liking this idea more and more **thumbup **thumbup KRO |

One of my frustrations with Steve Bruce is that he doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes, or at least he doesn't quickly learn from his mistakes. Prior to the Liverpool game it looked hopeful though. He seemed to have players in their corect positions (although you could argue that McSheffrey looks better leading the attack rather than playing wide), and also playing with some passion. Okay, in terms of footballing quality, imo we're still a long way off considering the players we've got, but I dont expect Bruce's tactical ability to suddenly emerge. For me, his biggest failing is in the area of his tactical knowledge. But for the moment I can forgive that if he at least gets the players showing some pride and passion - and that he has done recently. And then came Liverpool. Saying that Blues fand would prefer a win against Barnsley rather than a win against Liverpool is a massive presumption - and in my case at least is wrong. I would have prefered a win against Liverpool - because then we could have gone into the Barnsley match full of confidence and almost certain to continue our unbeaten run. It was never a case of 'you can only win one or the other' - we are allowed to win both, y'know. But instead we chose to surrender tamely, as we have done previously when faced with 'superior' opposition. Forget the fact that we could have reached the last 16 of the competition and given ourselves the chance of silverware and Europe, and lets concentrate on winning a game against Barnsley,eh? Utter nonsense. Bruce reverted to type and threw in the towel before a ball had been kicked. I had hoped he was improving. The Liverpool game just proved that he lacks the ingredients to ever turn a team of his into real winners. Yes, we may do okay in a secong rate league, but that is the limit of his capability. All you need to do is decide if you're happy with that. |

Quite funny that Forssell hinting at leaving where would he go, who would take him on ? same goes for Dunn. Upson has turned down the offer of a 5 yr contract and into the last 18 months of his present one so his hinting at leaving is hardly a revelation is it. Stephen Clemence is a suprise i never saw that ? when did he say that. a link would be good? same goes for the comments from Jerome Kilkenny and Danns ?
When i 1st read Cunninghams comments i went along with him as he was hardly an outspoken member of the squad and on the occassions i had met him he always came across as an honest bloke. that is until we discover his honesty is not what he ould have us beleive. was this not the very same Cunningham who refused to play against Bolton last season, the odd thing his he never mentioned that did he.
Is this the fault of the manager the board or the fans who have decided that they only support the club while its in the prem and then go along the lines of blaming anyone and everything to cover up their reasons for not going. and supporting the team. I have said many times it matters not who the manager is, Its the team that needs our support What i find disgusting is the way that some people are making very childish comments and passing judgement on players who they have never seen. they come on here saying what a load of rubbish a game was then it turns out they have not been to St andrews in months. how are these people capable of gaining an opinion on a game without seeing it ? the whole Bruce in Bruce out thing has raised a few questions such as what have the people who want him out done about it ?? apart from using it as an excuse not to go to games. There is a poster on here with a Bruce out campaign in his sig. who runs this campaign as i have looked around and have not seen any sign of such a campaign............... If there was surely we would have heard about it by now? maybe if these people put as much effort into supporting the team, as they do into finding excuses not to go, they may find that it has more of an effect. |

Well I'd just like to thank SB for the teams efforts on Wednesday night..............Not! After the debacle that was Liverpool last season I swore never to go to another game whilst SB was in charge. However with a scouser at work winding me up about last year I gave in and dragged him along with me. So after leaving the house at 7:00a.m. working all day belting up the motorway, watching a game that was less entertaining than watching paint dry and finally getting back home after mid-night I find that according to SB the game didn't really matter. It would have been nice to see the players put the same amount of effort in to playing the game as we did in getting to it. But of course the poor dabs can't be expected to do that. At least Wednesday has done one thing for me. It's reinforced my opinion that with SB in charge mediocrity is the best we can expect. It's also taught me the valuable lesson that there's absolutely no point in wasting any more money whiulst SB is in charge. Thanks Blues, Thanks SB, Thanks Board - From one now completely peed off supporter. |

I think those who are criticising Blues for their display against Liverpool are in the minority. At the end of the match, as I have mentioned previously, the majority of the fans stood to applaud the team off the pitch. So how come there is so much negativity towards the match on here? |
