We’ve had the some people on here for weeks over the cost of the tickets but when the cost is slashed, the some people find other matters to whinge about.

Clearly tickets are expensive but the board should not be routinely critisised for trying to keep the club financially competitive.

I feel for David Sullivan when he expresses his frustration at the lack of attendance and support at home fixtures. 19.5k is a disgrace for Birmingham; we claim to be a big club but on the back of four straight league wins we can’t pull a crowd.

People can critise and come up with all sorts of justifications but it’s a sad reflection that we had only 21k against the Baggies and fewer yesterday.

How can people expect the Board to spend in January with such pitiful attendances?

What is the problem ? What exactly do you want ?

Is it revenue or is it attendances?

If you want attendances to rise, then you need to seriously analyse why they have fallen. And not just settle for anecdotal evidence about cost, the manager or results. They may all have a bearing, but to varying degrees I would imagine.

If you want the revenue to rise, then you need to seriously question the kind of marketing we have experienced in recent years, and see if there is a fault in it.

Asking people to stay away is simply mind-numbing, as is calling the attendance figures a disgrace, without examining the underlying reasons.

Both those comments seem to be an attack upon a section of fans - this time the "missing" fans. Perhaps you need to enter into a dialogue with them, instead of assuming their reasons.

I see nothing in his post where he claimed he was a better fan than anyone else.

he does however raise a valid point.

The stay away fans will be back if we get promoted or get to the play-off final which could be at the new Wembley, they'll be telling every one they've supported BCFC through thick and thin etc. Your club needs you now, not just when we're in the Premiership. Keep the faith and back SB and the team.

KEEP RIGHT ON !

Thinking about it, 19K actually wasn't a bad crowd yesterday because Barnsley didn't bring too many. There were probably more Blues fans there yesterday than there were against Liverpool on Wednesday, and probably more than against the Baggies

The prices yesterday, £15 for adults were fair for this league imo.

Alas, not many stay-away fans thought so and the crowd was 3 0r 4 thousand short of the board having no excuse to keep the pricing sensible. You can hear them saying that if we're getting poor gates, we'll increase revenue by charging more to those who come every game.

My brother's in-laws live up in Scotland, and he takes their nipper out to watch Queen of the South, currently 9th in the Scottish First Division, and a ticket for an adult there is £14.

So anyone moaning that £15 is too much to watch a fair number of international footballers (Nafti, Jaidi, Taylor, Kelly, Bendtner all senior internationals in the Blues line-up yesterday) I think has to re-examine their complaint. Obviously the price isn't the only thing people are claiming keeps them away, but it does give a bit of perspective.

Although some people dismiss posts like this as 'superfan' posts, hes got a good point. I havent got a seasie ticket, but i do got to pretty much every home game, and I know if we get to cardiff i mite struggle for a ticket, when the hoards of stay away fans come flooding back.

Surely you can understand why people like me would be upset if we watch rubbish performances against norwich on a tuesday night, and then arent rewarded with a day out to cardiff because our tickets are taken by fair weather supporting.

why would they be taken by fairweather supporters? The tickets for finals are normally based on those holding stubs for one of the more poorly attended games (like yesterday) so if as you say you have been to most games you will have more of a chance of getting a ticket then someone who has not been this season.

As i have said before in another Thread i beleive the attendances now are very similar to those of when we were last in this lge.

http://www.european-football-statistics.co...tnclub/birc.htm

So all we have lost is the prem lge supporters. + or - a few either way

I think your probably right willie but if we are back to those who went to St A's before the prem why has the atmosphere that we had pre prem not returned?

The prices were lower in certain areas of the ground, the kop was normal price, hence the massive gaps.

Most (if not all) of the cheaper areas were full.

The price is the sole reason behind my own personal attendance,i`ll be at every game apart from the `Band A` games as in my opinion thirty quid is just too expensive for football at this level.

I've said previously that the front 4 Rows all around the ground should be £5, first come, first served. At least it'd look better for the TV if nothing else

I understand the fans who cant come because of the price, I wouldnt be able to go to every game if it wasnt for me old man. But the fans who dont come because of the 'standard' or 'quality' really confuse me... If your a supporter of the blues the come to watch them, I find games just as good weather its against Man Utd or Barnsley

And the people who arnt coming because Bruce is still there....well, looks like you lot wont be coming for a good few seasons then...ah well

of course 30 quid is too expensive, it is crazy money for the fizzy pop league.

i am a season ticket holder and i can tell you i would not pay 30 quid for the footie in this league even though i love the blues.

the board have dropped an almighty clanger with the season ticket prices anyway, and now they are struggling too drop prices for fear of upsetting us season ticket holders. ( and rightly so !!! )

the board need too look at themselves, and admit they have made a mistake instead of blaming the fans or not paying silly prices we cant afford ...KRO.....

ye thats what i was thinking if baggies had brought the same amount as barnsley we would have had around 19,000 for that game i can see 19,000 being our average attendance this season except for when a few big games come along.

Yeah same, tickets are expensive lets face it - especially for young kids - £15 for wolves, well thats alot for young kids whether it be league 2 or premiership.

However people who mention quality, i cant understand it. Maybe its just me -and it could be- but Id much rather see blues play barnsley and win 2-0 than watch us play man u and get hammered. If a few people got down (not aimed at people on this board) they would realise that championship football can be just as exciting as premiership.

You can't beat Championship football you win more often than not and we have already got nearly as many point's as we got through the whole of last season, still prefer Premiership though, it can be boring but you get to see all the big players, and you can bet that the 10k missing fan's will flood back, I just hope if the board and Bruce go out and buy player's in janruary that they do it with Premiership football in mind. :)
