Not saying its going to happen but i wonder with the Gordies doing absolute rubbish and calls for Roeder's head already, who would have a bet that IF Roeder got the boot would Brucie turn the Newcastle job down again if it was offered to him? Sheppard has already said he holds Bruce in the highest regard. I for one think he would take it and i wouldnt blame him if he did.

Anyway my random monday thought over with

Newcastle's current injury crisis makes ours of last season pale into insignificance.

Perhaps roeder should take a leaf out of Steve's book, if he wants to keep his job. And start every post-match interview with a list of wor big players missing through injuries. I've only seen him do it once, this time last year I'd heard it about 13 times from Steve.

If he was offered it again i would imagine he'd take it. Can you blame him? If you were managing Rotherham and DS asked if you wanted to come manage the Blues, would you turn it down?

My random thought --- Newcastle won't touch SB with a barge pole they'll be looking for a proven top flight manager

With Curbishley still looking for work, and the obvious bonus of not having to pay compensation for his services, he'd be way above Bruce in Newcastle's pecking order.

he is a geordie that has managed a premier side to a top ten finish, curbishley is a londoner that has achieved no more than steve bruce other than keeping a side in the league for slightly longer and spending less money in doing so.If bruce to newcastle is laughable tjhen curbishley is total comedy...........
working for a chairman who when asked if you can buy bellamy and parker he is true to his word not then delivering second best.

But when you have to consider that Freddie Sheppard, a man notorious for being woeful in making good deals, would have to arrange a compensation package with the people that got the best part of £12m for Pennant and Heskey, then Curbishley for free looks a much more attractive proposition.

If Newcastle did come in for Bruce, I'd expect Brady to take them to the cleaners.

Are you joking , Curbs kept a smaller club than blues in the top half of the prem playing GOOD FOOTBALL on very very little money. SB had more money than anyother manager away from thetop 4 or 5 clubs over the 4 years we were there.......................... And took us down!!!!

Now I'm not in a SB in/out mode cus we are doing ok at the mo, but to compare the two is just plain daft. Look at charlton now!!!!!!!!!!

SB is a fair manager who still needs to prove himself in the prem, Curbs is one of the best managers in the country full stop!!

If they offered him the job, imo, he would turn it down, for as he has said, it is about loyalty and integrity.

He has stuck by blues as our board have stuck by him, never in a million years would you see a person of Steve's loyalty and integrity walk out on a club.

Brucies decision would certainly be interesting. Given that the board stuck by him, through some very dire times.

...and i don't doubt that he'd manager to keep them up, as they have a decent set of players, who need motivating and organising. They'd be ok, until Bruce started to bring in his big players!

Its 'Geordie' please, and Bruce is not one. He was born in Northumberland so is NOT a geordie.

The day I hear Roeder say that they didn't get 'the rub of the green' is the day I know he has adopted total Bruceism

I get the feeling I'm still hearing it, so strong is the power of osmosis.
I know he probably hasn't said it this year - I still keep thinking thats why we lost to Norwich and Derby.
Me head needs defragging. :(
