Catering At St Andy's; ...same old story

I know this topic has come up many times before but i'm still astonished at how badly run the catering is! I dont really move from my seat during the whole time im at the ground (dont like to miss any action on the pitch even at half time :P ) so when i do take the rare trip to get a drink or a snack i find that nothing ever gets better..no matter how many times this topic has come up.

I'm always amazed at how long it takes to get served..there's a simple solution! Why cant we install railings..there should be 5 aisles with 5 tills at the end of them..a quick and easy way to speed things up. Most half decent grounds employ this..simple yet effective!

As i've said i rarely visit the kiosks at half time..but it seems every time i do i'm sure to hear a yell of "sorry mate we've run out of pies..." what the h@ll is going on! with the price of football nowadays surely this is a service we more than deserve! And if improved will mean increased profits for the club!

Any one with any ideas about how we can finally get this message across!!

at the Colchester game whilst waiting in the que i had to stand and listen to the catering staff getting abuse from someone, i was totally appalled, poor girl didn't know what she was doing. Sure standards need to improve but i wish people would be a little more patient.

Health & Safety. Not enough space in the concourses

they dont have to stretch right way across just 3-5 m at the last hurdle to organise the crowd in front of the kiosk. That way at least people know who's next to be served and will cut the abuse that some one has indicated, thrown to the staff! the system at the moment is up in the air!

You know it and I know it, but I'm fairly sure that was the reason given the last time this was discussed

The reason that the club management do not sort out the catering is simple. They don't care.

I bet the catering in the corporate boxes runs like clockwork ;)

Ok time for some action..can all those anoyed by the state of the catering at the game attach a comment to this thread..even if its one you've made many times before! I'll print it out and hand deliver with a covering letter to the club..(any tips as to how we get this letter as close to the top as possible would be helpful). As Mr Penguin puts it the reason nothing gets done is cos "they dont care" If they dont care about one thing the average fan can begin to think that the "dont care" attitude follows a much broader concern than just catering! (if that makes sense lol)

Spot on Mr Penguin.

They are hampered (not that you'll ever get one) by indequate facilities but this was because they couldn't have cared less when the stands were designed

In my most humble of opinions, when has the catering been any good at most grounds, eat outside just dont buy anything, i mean if peole cant go wothout food for 2 hours, if you dont buy nothing and sales go down then there will be an improvement, boycott the pies and see what they do then.

As for the catering staff, well, say no more, dead people have more life in them :P

Never had any trouble - always get my drink at the back of the Tilton before the match (don't bother at HT though). I've had more trouble at away matches than at home.

Apparently a meat pie at the Emirates costs over £5! for a fooking pie - it better be prime rump steak for that price - According to some bloke on 5 live a couple of weeks ago!!

Staff are a bunch of nuggets - but some of the attitudes from the people they serve is a disgrace. Why can't people just lighten up? (edit: I'm only on about some people who try to get served and are told they have no meat pies but act as though they have just been told they have a got to have a limb amputated) There are more important things in life.

It is a shambles, I have S T with my brother and 4 mates, we take it in turns each game to miss the last 10-15 mins of first half to get the refreshments in, lets face it, if you dont get there that early, u never get a pint and quesing for food is just a joke.

Appaling, but as previously said'they dont care'

or it would be sorted !!

I agree it's not the end of the world if you can't get a pie etc ( & also that some people need to lighten up!)- but I would get a drink and buy a coke etc for the kids if I could - the queues are horrible though so consequently I don't bother.

If I went anywhere else & the service was like this I definitely wouldn't go back - I wonder why it is considered acceptable just because it is in a Football ground?

But you probably do go back olton and you probably do avoid other places at certain times.

If I see a big queue at the chippy - I won't bother, or I'l wait 30 mins and go back - some people will just join that queue and then moan about it at the 1st opportunity.

McDonalds in any town on Saturday afternoon - full of kids.

Lottery tickets on a Friday afternoon when the jackpot is £120m - I'm getting mine today/tomorrow - avoid the hassle of Friday.

Christmas shopping - do it now.

Book a holiday for Christmas :D get away from the hoards!

 Am I really that organised!?!? :silence:

And another thing............taking the plastic top off your Coke before they give it to you.

So you won't use it as a missile?

If i really wanted to i'd get more purchase on a full bottle than the actual top!! l

Or the £ coins you used to buy it!! Now that is idiotic. But then we have idiotic fans who do throw things on the pitch, so you can hardly blame the club considering we have a 2 year suspended thing hanging over our heads since the viler match (or has that expired now?)

Either way there are elements who go to matches that do throw these things and spoil it for the rest of us.

i don't bother because the organisation & service is dreadful but i would prefer it if the organisation & service was adequate so I could buy a pie or a pint or a coke for my kid without a 15 minute scrum followed by "we're out of pies"

i agree penguin, but if a service is so predictably bad why bother with it? i know it shouldn't be like that but it is, so folk should make alternative arrangements or even take something with them - without bottle tops, obviously...
