could turn into spurs where all the footballers constantly look up at the screen to check their hair

it is a good idea however it shouldnt show replays during the game, it should be idle during the game !

the older video casette

instead of having 2 tape drive thingys the betamax had one and the quality was pish

it was new technology in the 80's

so is the big screen gonna be put inbeteen the main stand and railway end, cos i am geting tired of looking at the smog, i remember when that little building use to be there, always thought it was tom ross's hut :)

Slightly factually incorrect for many years it was acknowledged that the quality of Betamax was better it was just that there were no films available on the format and hence everyone bought VHS and Betamax died. Can't remember how many reels it had though as like all sane people we had a VHS recorder. Now I am feeling old, someone who doesn't know what betamax was :(

Hey maybe this can double as a score board and have a permanent display of the score not that I will be able to see it when I am down St Andy's as I usually sit in the KOP.

its going between the railway and the kop. is says "as used on Henman hill at Wimbeldon".

Does that mean we will always get the the quarter finals and lose ?

the phillips v2000 was the best you could record on both sides of the casset.

actually it was widely acknowledged that betamax was better quality than vhs..in fact it is still used widely in the television and film industry..

Bring back the big yellow clock. There was something quite enjoyable about watching the man change the scoreboard when we'd just scored. You always new where you stood with the clock. Although i am not adverse to change i Blues don't go for a cheap option like they have with the PA system. A Matsui big screen might not cut the mustard.

Excellent news. I think the board were waiting until they new what was happening with the new stadium etc....now all we need is a better PA system in certain parts of the ground and better prematch music and maybe we'll be in a better mood before the game. **thumbup

You guys with your betamax theories are really showing your age!!! :P

They said to the left of the Railway, it depends on which way you're facing, but I assume it has to be next to the main stand.

No it will be in the corner between the Kop and the Railway and be a giant Phillips screen the same as was used in Germany during the World Cup.
