They could at least replace some of the seats so they were all the same shade of blue

If a few more bothered to come you would not see the seat colour whilst they were occupied.....
Gold said 2 years since, to spend £12million to get an extra 4,000 more capacity was not good economics.
New Roof and a small OG on the top for me.

Didn't they also say that they'd replace it after 2 seasons in the Premiership (or was it in the second season) ?

i'd think we'd need to expand our capacity whether it's St. Andrew's or a new ground just to compete with the top teams.

we can't carry on in the Championship with a 30,016 seater ground, we need to build a team good enough to target Europe and build a stadium to rival Liverpool's and Arsenal's new ground.

it's quite embarssing to see teams like Coventry, Leicester, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday with bigger grounds

But what is the point ? How can you say we cannot carry on in the Championship with a 30000 ground when were are no where near ever filling it?? We would never fill it, just like Cov,Leicester, Ipswich and Sheff Wed never fill there own.

Some Blues need to face the stark facts and see that we are not as big a club as some people think we are.

Your right, we're not a big club anymore.we was in the 70's when we boasted being 4th biggest gates season by season.
Most of them are long dead. Most the young guys 20'30' cant be bothered, sooner go shoping

Thanks to Jan for bringing to our attention that a Plan B might exist. Thanks to CPH for knowing what plan B might look like. And Dedblue

Your knowledge of blues is minimal, your insult about modern blues fans is unbelievable, you may be trying to wind up a reaction, but you are on the wrong thread brother, and probably the wrong site.

Question for everyone. If any of you had the task of using your money to build a new stand that is not going to be filled, would you still build it???

Thats the answer imo as well, refurb the bloody thing, it wouldnt cost the earth surely, but i dont blame them not building another, i seem to remember one of the Golds saying a while back "when we have 4-5000 people knocking on our doors because they cant get match tickets then we will build it"

Yes. Because I can get grants to help finance it and being a euro billionaire I can afford to wait for 10 or 20 years to be repaid.

And more seats means lower prices all around, which could easilly mean more customers with a dedicated family block where the adults are responsible for their kids' behaviour.

We can't build backwards, but we can build upwards. :D

last one...

extended main stand (rather than a complete replacement like before) with scoreboard and metal roof (i know it's small lol) oh and ALL blue seats (instead of grey)

kinda reminds me of Marseille's Velodrome :ph43r:

picture quality aint great, but neither is the software used

it's kinda unrealistic since we cant build too far backwards (shame the stand isnt very steep)

If the decision is ever made to build upwards rather than backwards, estimated time for someone to complain that it's blocking the light = 20 minutes

Yes I would because we need to grow the Club. With the current capacity the Club's growth is stunted.

Excellent Designs from TCPH.

My view is that now is exactly the right time to sort it out. If we wait and get Promoted the improved crowds will rule out any redevelopment as the Club won't want to lose any income.

It makes sense to do it now - IF there is any intention of investing in this project. And on the point of investment, I think the Board are getting more and more reluctant to spend anything

Wasn't the Kop built on foundations strong enough for a second tier? If so then that investment already exists and it would be foolish to throw it away.
The main stand and a two-tier Kop will bring the capacity upto around 38-40,000.

More than enough to lower ticket prices and get more fans in.

if you're gonna add a 2nd tier to the Kop you might aswell carry it around to the Tilton too. unless you want it to look like Elland Road :P

Probably CPH, but I don't know how strong the foundations are in the Tilton, but I can just about recall Sullivan at the time mentioning the Kop, and how the company that built Pride Park did the plans that could include a second tier in the future.

I recently went on a Stadium Tour and the guy who did it said that if we went straight back up to the Prem, it would be done then with the TV money etc.
Then again, I doubt he knows any more than any of us.

Also, with the new Big TV Screen coming n, I doubt there`ll be mmuch cash left over anyway !

There's money to be made in knocking down the main stand - after all there must be at least 30 Balls to be retrieved from the roof - 28 of which were from Gronkjaer's crosses <_<
