Now that West Ham have billionaire finance the Gold's dream of ever taking over there (which I understand they would have wanted to do if the price was right) has surely do we think that it will change their attitude to financing BCFC?

nope, it will still be short-term, unambitious and penny-pinching

On the playing side they have given this club enough money over the years, the rest of it i dont care about, but for me they have been more than generous with transfer funds dont think we could ask for anyone better. Pity they chose the wrong bloke to give the bulk of the money to mind, but thats another story.

Long live the Golds i say

they have been more than generous

 they are worth hundreds of millions yet have invested nothing of their own wealth in the club

As I see it some owners run their club as a hobby and use their own money, others (like ours) run it as a business and try to make it stand on its own two feet as much as possible.

I believe the latter keeps the business solid and have no problem with our owners.

This thread suggests that our owners have 'held back' in what they have done for BCFC whilst having one eye on something else, which I feel is disrespectful given what they have done for the club.

Just my opinion of course and I may be proved totally wrong!

I was talking on the playing side, ok it might not be the actual pound notes out of their own back pockets but they have more than helped their managers with transfer funding, whether it be their money or not i dont care, it has been spent, i dont care about the non-playing side if it, its only the football that counts for me, and when push comes to shove nobody forced them to come to this club and drag it out of the dark ages, i for one am grateful for all they have done at this club

over the last few years they have put very little of there own money into the club.

all i can see is they have topped up players wages.

Fair enough, but a man who is worth hundreds of millions & chooses not to spend any of it on the club can hardly be described as "generous".

Ah yes, the alleged Francis, Carrott and Lynne buyout!!!

DS has said on a number of occaisions since his arrival that if people with genuine intentions for the future wellbeing of the Club came forward he would gladly sell. IMHO Francis, Carrott & Lynne would certainly fit this criteria. Going back to the 2001 League Cup final Francis even declared that if he wasn't at the game working he'd have been there anyway as he was a fan.

Now it's every persons right to decide how and when they spend their hard earned brass but isn't it strange that they've disappeared off the radar over the last few years? Too large an undertaking for them perhaps? DS unwilling to sell? Or maybe the two 'local lads' & the 'Golden Boy fan' had their bluff called and were suddenly found wanting in the cash & bottle department?
