I'm glad Bruce has proved me wrong and I hold my hands up because I did doubt him after last season but after that clear the air talks,he has made it happen so well done to all at BCFC and let's win the League.

I was thinking to myself,if we can get a point from both Burnley and S`hampton that would be decent but now if we can go to St Marys and get something it will be a thoroughly brilliant week.

I don't think a win at Southampton is beyond us?

The other thing which is good is we are not exactly playing that well at the moment for
any sustained periods. and yet we continue to get results. **thumbup

Indeed i dont like to tempt fate but i`m quietly confident going into the match.

I`ve been thinking the same about the not playing well but didnt want to appear too negative after a brilliant run of results,i still say i`ve not walked out of a ground thinking `my god we played well there` but if winning the league ugly is what is required then i guess so be it.

But have you ever considered some of US other supporters would like to see the team win in style for a change ??

A win at Southampton is certainly not beyond us (after all this is only the 2nd ranked league in the country) but I'm sure it would have been nicer to look forward to a game against Liverpool,Chelsea or even the Vile this week

Agreed, but i see it as an ongoing improvement and as the younger players get more confidence, and depending on who if anyone comes in in Jan. we may have to forsake pretty football to get out of this lge.

I agree, Partisan, we would all like to see the time win in style, but this division has always been notoriously difficult to get out of, and sometimes you just have to grind out results.

However, if we do manage to continue to grind out these results, then you will get your wish to see us play those teams you mentioned.

My point was we could (and should) have been playing those teams THIS season

Yes,this is an extremely difficult division to get out of....but can I just remind some there is a long, long way to go yet to realise that promotion dream

Yes,we ae in pole position (joint top with Cardiff and Preston) but look at the teams coming on strong ....Saints,Derby,etc

And have you noticed no less than SIX Midland teams in the Top 10...it's not going to get easier, just hope we have the staying power

it would be nice to win in style but if you look at the midfield available to the manager you cannot see it happening yet,
see thread titled ,when are they fit.

This league is becoming an oligopoly of perhaps 3,4,or5. Our level of confidence needs to grow to make us believe we can beat anyone so that our only enemy is ourselves. This includes Brucie developing a killer instinct to go with the battling instinct.

Its really looking good for you guys at the moment and long may it continue. Just one thing though if bruce gets a good slagging when blues lose a few games then surely he should get loads of praise when they win a few. I know i have quoted robson on this site before but it is the only thing he said that i agreed with quote "players win matches, managers lose them" obviously he was being sarcastic. so my point is get behind bruce, get behind the team as i know most of you do and lets get at least one west midlands team back where they belong.
ps dont worry too much about performances just keep getting 3 points.

I can't agree with that. Today we had the luck but before we had worked hard and played well to EARN the points.

How can you say that we were lucky when ( I assume) you weren't even at the game. I listened to the commetery and in all reality you cant draw any conclusion from that. OK, Clem kicked a ball off the line with 3 minutes to go, but that is just a snapshot of the 90 or so minutes played.
Todays match APPEARED to be one where a result had to be ground out...which is exactly what we did.

If the radio commentary is no guide to a match, why the hell do they bother with radio commentaries?? And why do people listen?? Strange comment

Absolutely Brilliant, long may this run of form continue, Southampton will be tough, but confidence is high, so hopefully we can take something from the game.

I could't careless how Blues play, obviously we all like to see good football, but personally I get just as much satisfaction out of crunching tackle's by Clemo and Muamba, that's what we are good at, and it win's us games. :)

You talk a lot of sense, personally I hope both blues and baggies go up. It would be good if another midlands club could win the playoffs as well to make it a midlands treble.

I know it's a cliche, but the next 3 games are very important, Southampton (A) Plymouth (H) and Preston (H) we have to aim for 9 points as these teams will be around us at the top by the end of the season, also we need to continue picking up points while Cardiff are in a slump, they will snap out of it soon.

Southampton and Preston maybe, but Plymouth will be mid table at best, they are not that good a team, ok they had a nice little run of form, but they are not going to be in the mix come April,

It would be nice to be entertained by Blues and I have in small bouts this season. However, the priority is to win at the moment; with wins the confidence will come and the entertainment will follow.

Credit to the lads and Bruce at the moment; they're grinding these results out and starting to play more as a team. I've been in a great mood for weeks now- keep it up lads!! **thumbup

The way to get out of the league is to be defensively strong. That is what we are now. As for luck, we were unlucky v Leicester not to have the keeper sent off, similar v Wolves, Leeds.....it all balances itself out. The bottom line on Saturday was that they scored once, had two other shots (wide) and Clem cleared off the line. That was it, we were never in trouble. We dominated them attacking wise and always looked more likely to score. If you get the ball in the area enough times then things are going to fall, like they did for Bendtner. Don't agree and never have felt we should 'walk' this league. West Brom have got by far and away the best and most talented squad - they should 'walk' it - but they don't have our resolve, guts or ability to grind out results. As for winning in style and so on, we have played very good football this season at times. Not consistently for 90 minutes admitedly, but all the same we have played more football than we did last season and are creating far more chances. With three or four signings to improve the squad in January and make sure we don't come a cropper if we get injuries, we can go up.

I think if we get 7 points from the next 3 games,we will have done well.Southampton is always a trickey place to go but a draw would be a good result,Plymouth will be a hard game as they have excellent away form but I think we will do it and Preston, well this should be a great match and I hope the crowd turns up for this,I think we will just beat them but that's all that matters at the moment.
