With regard to not infiltrating other peoples threads and posts with views on political debate, will you please consider a specfic section for this purpose? Political debate can be very close to the bone, especially with passionate beliefs.

I for one, would love to see this, it is often shied away from, and we're told it's not appropriate for a football forum, but I believe that politics and todays society should be discussed openly....

Thanks for your input, but having discussed this with the other admin, it's not something that we will be doing. It's a request that's been made before and we've decided against it for the same reasons. That being that this is predominantly a message board that is in existence to talk about Blues, with one or two other topics added on. At social occasions one is normally advised to steer away from politics or religion and with good reason ie that it often ends in arguments or disagreements. We have enough of a job on our hands as it is without having to referee even more political debates, plus there are numerous more appropriate forums out there for people that wish to discuss those topics. Sorry if it's not the answer you wanted to hear, but our decision on this is final.

Thanks for replying admin.

Can I take it from this quoted statement that political debate is ok, but in which forum in particular?

I have had one or two posts deleted, that were not over the top at all, I kind of get the feeling that we are allowed to post what we want, as long as it's what the admin wants.....

If this site is seen as one for Blues fans, which, of course it is, why is it ok to have additional forums that are non football related? A forum dedicated to political and social discussion would not be any harder to monitor than any other thread;post;forum.....

I know you wont change your mind on this, generally speaking, people in positions of authority do not like hearing the truth at times, and unfortunately, the world we live in is the same....freedom of speech IS dead.

Shame.

freedom of speech isn't dead. You can chat on any subject you like in General chat. The forum is big enough as it is. of course if around 100 people requested a political section it may become a possibilty... but i can't see that happening, can you?

by the way generally speaking, people in positions of authority do like hearing the truth at times!! sometimes Threads are deleted if they decend into worthless bilge and arguing.

The forum in my eyes has come alongway this year, we have added new sections and thanks to Chris the Forum looks fantastic and i think we should all be proud that BCFC are one of only a handful of Clubs in the top two divsions that have an official forum. Not only that any decisions on the forum are taken with lots of people involved, not many forums are run like that are they.

whilst I don't agree with the blue bears political beliefs I do believe that if he inputs into a debate in a resonable way then his posts should not be deleted! the right to disagree is one of the things what makes this country so great

I understand admins and mods stance on political debate as it can get heated at times, but I do find it very annoying that when you have posted into a thread and come back to check a response the thread is often gone!! could not the offending posts be deleted and sensible debates remain?

i think you'll find this thread is about having a new forum section, the answer to that is still no.

as for a political debate, no one is stopping any debate taking place in General chat, should it decend into a slanging match it will be deleted, if in doubt about the rules of the forum they can be found at the top of Blues chat or Click here.
