....and Craig Fagan (said to be one of the most up and coming players in this leauge)

Blues reject, I think you'll find!

I hope you have a good season, but I still think Blues and Baggies have the greater squad and will take the top two places. I hope you're up there at the end of the season along with the other midlands teams.

Never liked Derby, tbh. It's probably a throwback to the favourable coverage that they used to get on Star Soccer in the 70s. It is also a grim, nondescript town.

I seem to recall they were at the Baseball ground every other week too!

And those green goal nets they used to have.

I used to love Star Soccer with good old Hugh Johns commentating... " Oh yes! - One-nothing Birmingham City"

How do you work that one out matey. For your information Derby in the middle of a massive revamp and when finished will be a town on par with Birmingham even if a little smaller. Of course we got our rough areas but i think grim is rather harsh

Rams fan, you could spend the next 10 years revamping Derby and it would still be a dump!
Only joking mate, as an Ashbourne bluenose I spend many a happy Sunday walking around the Eagle centre. Hope you do come up in second place for the sake of the sad rams fans I have to work with. **thumbup

While I was university in Derby they won promotion the last time.

One Friday night, as I waited at the coach station, I noticed the traffoic had stopped coming round that massive island.

As I watched in confusion a car appeared from nowhere. It had the roof down and soitting on the back of is was a giant sheep waving to the few people that had bothered to follow it.

Closely behind were 2 open top buses with players and other people on board.

It was the victory parade. A bit of a damp squib if you ask me but I'll never forget that sheep.

And on Stern John, DO NOT SIGN HIM, he was on loan to us last season and without a doubt he is the worst player ever to put on a Derby shirt, i will grow in confidence alot if you sign him!

No, the worst player ever to do that was Bjorn Otto Bragstaad !

Luckily, we only had him on loan

As for Derby, they were always my second team when I was growing up in the 70's because you had Kevin Hector and my favourite programme at the time was Hector's House ! :D

To be fair, Derby backed the Manager already in the transfer window and I would say that you and West Brom will be our biggest threat.

The baggies can do one as far as I'm concerned after the club and the fans reaction to Damien's broken jaw. I have taken an interest in Derby since they had Kenna. magic Johnson and pesch plus lots of Derby fans where I work in Burton so I'd be happy if it was us and them as long as we go up as Champions of course :P

Definitely NOT Preston

Derby isn't that bad. I used to go to uni in Derby as well, also worked in Burton, so I have known a few Derby fans, all good in my book (the ones I knew hated viler and Wolves as well, that helped).

Good look to you this season, hopefully at the end season we finish where we are at the moment.

I'd say Derby being "a little smaller" is the biggest understatement of the year so far. The City of Manchester is less than half the size of Brum, so quite where that puts Derby I don't know lol

Bjorn Otto Bragstaad ha ha i almost fell of my chair when you said that patethic exsuse of a mans name. Didnt realise you had him on loan. We signed him for 1.5 million surely the worst piece of business Jim Smith ever did. And thank you all you kind brummies for your nice comments about the rams, nothing would please me more than for us to be in the top 2 at the end of the season, though be prepared to come away with no points when we come down to St Andrews

None descript is what it was when I was there.

If you take the university away there is even less to attract someone to Derby.

I would hate to think what they were doing with the sheep???????????????

The sheep was about the size of Beau.

He was waving and jigging about like mad. Maybe someone was doing something to it!!!! LOL Who knows.

There were about 10 little kids running alongside the first bus. That was it.

Not much of a parade!! LOL

My friend's brother used to play for Derby.

I hope Derby do well and go up this season (although not at the expense of Blues obviously) soley for Magic Johnson. A true unsung hero at the Blues, he was fantastic for us the entire time he was at the club and one of those rare breeds these days: a footballer with a personality and sense of humour, he used to have some right good banter with the Blues fans, especially at away matches.

Good luck Magic, one of the few ex Blues players I wish was still at the club.

i'm sure you leaving was as big a shock, k-bek. really, for a smallish city (about 200k people i think) it's pretty good and much less chance of being shot/stabbed/raped....although i suppose they pass for entertainment in some places...

Proccy, I have been living in the area (not the city itself) for 20 years, and believe me it is a dump. As for muggings, murders etc you really should lay off those mushrooms, it is as bad as any other city, (apart from Nottingham, now that is bad)! **thumbup

maybe i don't know it as well as you - i've lived in derby area (duffield, chellaston) for about 12 years before moving to burton 3 years ago - it is better for crime than the following places i have lived; nottingham, birmingham, sidcup, bristol and glasgow....fact, without the aid of any mushrooms!!
