A decision on him seems to be labouring
Has he made the guiness book of records for the
longest medical in history?
Maybe he is defying medical law
the unbionic man

Medical completed they're waiting for results and reports.

Blackburn seem to want him on the cheap and considering what was said about Dunn when he came to us I wouldn't want to go back.

Today's conspiracy theory...

Brucie hates the welshpool mob... Dunn is a crock & Brucie wants to con Mark Hughes into buying him... Brucie is mates with Alladyce.... So Bolton make a big show of having put dunn through extensive medicals & eventually announce that all is well.... Welshpool then nip in & persuade dunn to go there instead... Stitched up like a kipper **thumbup

isn't it amazing - i come on here and question the manager and boards performances and results and i get slated for it.

but here we have a player, one of the most skilfull players we've had here for many years, and at the start of this campaign he was head and shoulders better than anyone in this league and who would help us gain promotion, yet four months later he's being ridiculed by fans because he's now leaving!

it's a fickle world football.

i think the only ones stitched up for letting a 27yr old attacking midfielder go for little over £1m is us!

sometimes i do wonder if we really appreciate what we have a Birmingham - perhaps we've been playing up and at em hoofball for too long for fans to know when we have real talent at the club!

You took the words right out of my mouth, all these so called fans wanting rid of the most talented player in this league, remember it could come back and bite us on the bum,if he goes to blackburn or bolton plays as we know he can ,gets into the England squad all for a million quid.IMO we should keep him until the end of the season and then look at the situation.

I agree.

I don't want to see Dunn leave just like I don't want to see Upson go.

These are the types of player we need to be attracting of anyone at the club is serious about getting up and making a better go of it than last time.

We will find it a lot easier to attract top players if we already ahve some but we're selling them hand over fist.

When we signed Dunn we got £5m worth of player. When Bolton get him for £1m they're still getting £5m worth of player.

Maybe if we had signed some players during the summer of 05 and again last January we would not have needed to rush Dunn back from injury like we did. The return of Dunn should have been a bonus not a lifeline.

I wish him luck and I wish he was going to stay bt a financial decision has been made not a footballing decision so we will see him leave.

Although Dunn has previously expressed an interest in returning to Blackburn, his hometown club where he made his name before a £5.5m transfer to Birmingham City, his St Andrew's manager Steve Bruce made it clear last week that he was reluctant to do business with Rovers.

"No way am I going to be hi-jacked, mollycoddled or hoodwinked into anything that is just going to suit David Dunn," Bruce said.

Taken this quote from another thread, so apologies because I've forgotten who posted it.
Is this part of MrPenguin's conspiracy theory ?

PS. It was Elvis, and from Monday's Bolton newspaper.

I do think that some of our fans would be happy with a mid-level Championship team full of battlers and cloggers.

Obviously, that's not to say we don't need combatative qualities, but we also need the skill Dunn can offer - and did offer - at the start of the season.

Yeah and what happens if he stays and breaks down again?

Whether or not he is the most skilful player at the club its no use if hes sat in the stands 75% of the time, our good form has coincided with him being out i just dont see what he could add if he came into the team.

I can hear the stick now that the board and Bruce will take if we keep him and he breaks down, lets be fair if he has had a medical it must be the longest ever on record, that to me alone says the bloke has dodgy fitness. Get rid

i admire peoples loyalty to the guy and honest if he'd had more luck with injuries it probably would have been better for him. 53 appearances 15 as sub and 8 goals in getting on for four years from a player who cost us 5.5 million not to mention the wages he's had.. where do you draw the line and start to recoup some of that money. I hate slagging players off, as i've said he's had a lot of bad luck. I don't believe honestly he'll ever be truly fit. I just think Dunny is a luxury we can't afford.

if he could stay fit and injury free then I would agree withy you and would think we were fools for selling him. but the big point is he cannot stay injury free !

He has not had the longest medical in history. It all revolved around the scan. Bolton were unable to get a scan at the weekend, and so had to wait till yesterday.
It is 24 hours since the scan, hardly record breaking is it ?

I don't think Dunn actually expressed an intention to move back to Blackburn at all.

He was asked if he would consider it by some reporter and answered honestly that a move closer to his family would be great.

The press play a very big part in what is viewed by the public. Look at Upson, that's gone quiet hasn't it because a frenzt failed to materialise.

Players are asked all sorts of questions and give all sorts of answers. The press only has to change the interpretation slightly and they ahve a story.

It happened to Morrison too.
Q: Would you consider a move away from Blues to get 1st team football.
A: Yes, it is importsnat for my ROI career to be playing 1st team football.
Report: Morrsion wants out.
(Or words to that effect)

Dunnn is being villified by some people and for what? Saying he'd like to be closer to his family. That's all.
There has been no transfer request, no dodgy dealings Gobbie Cabbage stylie and no real news story.

On a serious note i know for a fact that bruce wanted to build the team round
Dunny at the start of the season i guess he just lost patience, when he got injured
again- great player when fit,and from what mcsheff said yesterday tinged with
sadness because he was a bit of a character.

Always remeber when him and forsell came on for the last 20 in the fa cup away v reading
you could see the reading players thinking wtf he was head and shoulders above
anything on the pitch- a sad loss but hey we move on

I haven't seen much vilification. Just folk expressing an opinion about whether or not we should sell.

totally agree with this

I think he is the most gifted player we have on the books unfortunately he is never fit long enough to make a lasting impression in the side! and if what SB says is true he is now fit but wants a move up north. I don't belive in keeping a player who is un happy... if he has issues its best we let him go!!

I wish things were different but they aren't... the stats speak for them self :(

It might of just been a good idea to take one last look for the rest of the season and if he gets injured again then we can let him go at the end of the season, when his contract expires. we've already spent god knows how much on him, 5.5m + wages + medical costs.
If he stays fit we can then use that 18mth option we have and then see what happens from there, hes the best player we have had for many a year I dont see the point of letting him go for 1m,

Surely he can move closer to his family without moving clubs.

We all know what Dunn can do. I'd rather keep him, take up the 2 year option and have a player more than capable of terrorising Premiership defenses.

If he doe sstay fit after this he will only benefit us.

If we keep him now, play him then sell in the summer he'll be worth more.

may be it was performance related .. in that case we might only have paid a couple of million instead of the 5.5 million
