Nice one Brucey. http://www.blues.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...~965671,00.html

What does that say to the Brucey haters?

It won't mean a lot if we don't go up - lets hope for a couple more before the season is out.

I class myself as a person who doesnt rate Bruce but i wouldnt call myself a "Bruce hater" hate is a very strong word, i judge him on his managerial performance and thats it.

But what this award says to me is he is doing very well in a league that we should not even be in but one that i feel plays to his "strengths" as a manager.

Fair play to the man, just hope he keeps it up and wins some real awards where it matters , the Prem.

As has been often said, this division is Steve's back yard.
Its in the Premiership, against some of the best teams in Europe that is the testing ground.

I'm not being churlish, and I'm very pleased for him and for us.But what would people say if Jim Smith from the Conference beat Steve in the next segment ?

Brucey is also the 9th longest serving League Manager (of the current 92 Managers, and at the same club).

A few months ago, when the first awards were made, I think Steve Bruce was about 8th or 9th.
In a thread on this Forum, the LMA Awards were called rubbish and meaningless.
The only real award was Promotion etc etc. Now that Steve has won the second award, all of a sudden it is the most coveted award going.

Come on everybody.

Theres reason to be pleased and happy, but all this clappy-clappy is very naff, and embarrasing. We are the Blues, don't forget.

Don't tempt fate.

KRO,

He also has NINE more lives than the other 'cats' in the 4 Leagues

Goody Gum-Drops for Brucey but I think most of us would prefer seeing the Carling Cup or FA Cup at St Andrews

agreed but that will never happen with the current set up, in that all the top clubs now play near full strength teams in all competitions - the chances of a "smaller" team winning anything are all but gone...imo of course..

well done sb, but promotion is the aim, anything else is window dressing.. **thumbup

Proccy.......The League Cup (or Carling) is always winnable .....look at all these winners......teams either from outside the top flight or otherwise "SMALLER,UNFASHIONABLE clubs
never fancied to win the trophy

i think that supports my case partisan, but the top prem sides (chelski, manure, arsenal and liverpool) all field top sides the last couple of years. whilst i agree to an extent it's winnable so is the lottery, but it's highly unlikely..

yes it's been won by not so glamourous clubs - but is that table saying that in the last 18 years only 4 teams other than the top 4 have won the League cup?

Boro, Blackburn, Leicester, Wednesday?

That doesn't fill me with confidence.

The same that only Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea have won the FA Cup for the last 10 years.

exactly what i was meaning tim - the big clubs get richer and add to their squads to allow them to compete on 4 fronts, the rest of us struggle, fact. the gap is increasing between the financial "haves" and "have-nots" and that is to the detriment of the game in general. the cups have lost their romance because the likelihood of a team outside the top six in the prem winning them are remote now, if not impossible.... :(
