TEAM NEWS FOR NEWCASTLE REPLAY NGotty Bruno N'Gotty gets his first run-out in three months in tomorrow's cup-tie. Steve Bruce has confirmed that defender Bruno N'Gotty will make his first appearance for Blues in exactly three months in tomorrow night's FA Cup replay at Newcastle United. The former Bolton man has become the forgotten man of St. Andrew's after being dropped from the side following the poor run of results in mid-October. N'Gotty played in the first ten league games of the season but has found himself out in the cold since the home defeat to Norwich. However, with his ex-Bolton colleague Radhi Jaidi serving a one-match and right back Stephen Kelly unavailable due to a calf injury, N'Gotty gets a long-awaited recall to the team for the trip to St. James' Park. Bruce, who refused to confirm whether the former French international would be playing at right-back or centre-half, admitted that N'Gotty had been unfortunate to find himself on the sidelines for so long. With Blues short on defensive cover, Bruce has also added 16-year-old Academy centre back Krystian Pearce to the squad that will be flying up to Newcastle tomorrow morning. Pearce, an England youth international, only joined the full-time ranks this summer as a first year scholar but has already impressed the management and become a regular in the reserves as well as captaining the under-18 side. "He's been out for a couple of months and he can feel harshly done by because he had done okay since he'd been here but I opted to change the team round against Derby back in October," said the Blues boss. "Martin Taylor came in and did very well and continued to play exceptionally well in the next ten or 12 games. "You can understand Bruno's frustration. He's played for Lyon, Marseille, Milan and Bolton for five years and he wanted to come here and play." Bruce continued: "It was a huge culture shock for him, and Jaidi, to drop down from the Premiership to the Championship. "I don't think he's headed the ball as much in his life as he has this season. jerome Cameron Jerome is fit to return at St. James' Park. "He understood my reasons at the time although he wasn't particularly happy as you would expect. "But make no mistake, he has got a magnificent pedigree and he'll handle it tomorrow night, no question. Here is his opportunity." Nicklas Bendtner (ankle) and Mikael Forssell (knee) will both be missing for Blues tomorrow while new boy Rowan Vine is cup-tied. Cameron Jerome is fit to return after missing the first game against Newcastle due to an Achilles injury and Bruce confirmed that the former Cardiff striker would partner DJ Campbell up front. Could this signal Upson's departure? No sign of any injury to him or Tiny. |

Upson is going to Newcastle or West Ham - whoever stumps up the asking price. This game is to be sure N,Gotty is up to the challenge to replace him or whether Blues need to buy. |

I have to say has Bruce completely lost his marbles?? NGotty hasn't played for 3 months - i can just see us being 2-0 down after 10 minutes..game over. Why not play Upson & Taylor...we've all been resting for 11 days so to play Wednesday and then Saturday at 5.15 shouldn't be a problem for one of them (as Jaidi could play on Saturday) Seems bizarre to me all this. |

danns should partner muamba not nafti otherwise we wont really be a threat through the middle of the park. nafti and muamba are to similar which has been a mistake bruce makes to often for me . also n'gotty should not be thrown in tomorrow . |

That was my first thought as well. Strange that a 16 year old has been called up in front of him. Not an encouraging sign for Oji is it. Could luck to Pearce if he's needed though, nice to see that we've got some highly thought of youngsters coming though. |

Oh and I would have gone with Jonty at right back personally as I feel he's a better player there than in midfield. *shrug* |

we havent got much of a chance so he go out and attack and play an attacking team like: Taylor Jonty Taylor Upson Sadler Larsson Kilkenny Danns McSheff DJ Jerome Maybe to attacking so maybe have Muamba instead of danns/kilkenny and actually play an attacking centre mid. |

What makes you say that? We drew with them 2-2 with no strikers and 10 men. We have as much as a chance as them IMO. |

Newcastle will field same XI who started against Spurs, with same 5 on bench as well : Shay Given, Nolberto Solano, Kieron Dyer, Obafemi Martins, James Milner, Antoine Sibierski, Nicky Butt, Peter Ramage, Steven Taylor, Paul Huntington, Matty Pattison. Subs: Steve Harper, David Edgar, Alan O'Brien, Andy Carroll, James Troisi. So no Emre, and no Scott Parker. (This from the NUFC web site). KRO, C. |

You shouldn't be on this Forum... You're talking far too much sense.... NGotty has been gathering cobwebs for three months without a game and based on this his morale is what exactly? wtf** Do you recall Tebs coming off the Bench and for the first twenty minutes going kami kaze? Tiny in the middle; DJ at right back.... And what's up with Clem? If Clem isn't available then Kilkenny and Muamba in central midfield.... |

i cant believe this, we get some people on here moaning about Bendtners injury, so Brucie decides to use N'Gotty in a match in place of one of our more bigger players, and theres outrage. How would you like it if Brucie played Taylor and Upson centre half and Taylor damaged his knee ligaments and Upson broke a foot? then we'd only be left with Jaidi and N'Gotty, with no real proven cover, and then we'd have to buy and theres no certaintly the centre halfs we buy could settle in with Maik and Sads/Kelly |

Actually you're right mate.... Let's go with your strategy and stick a reserve team out! Can't wait to see them against Reading Reserves again! |
