Blues Fan In A Coma

My name is Sam Tyler. I had an accident, and I woke up in 1993. Am I mad, in a coma, or back in time? Whatever's happened, it's like I've landed on a different planet. Now maybe if I can work out the reason, I can get home.

1993 feels like another world. New owner David Sullivan is promising to make Blues a top six club. I’d forgotten about that. There’s much talk of reviving a sleeping giant and making St.Andrews “The Old Trafford of the Midlands”.

Should I warn Blues fans what the next 14 years has in store ? Maybe that's what I'm here for. Should I tell them that we will spend most of that time in the same division we are in now ? Should I mention that in 2007 the main stand is still an embarrassment and that we are hoping to get a big screen soon ? Should I tell them that the fan base will have shrivelled to become smaller than Leicester’s, Ipswich’s and Norwich’s ? Should I tell them that clubs such as Reading, Bolton and Wigan Athletic have overtaken us ?

Nah. Nobody would believe it anyway. Let them enjoy this time of hope and expectation. The broken promises will bite soon enough.

Ah well, only one more year until the release of Saturday Night and that golden summer of Whigfield. No need to hurry back to 2007 just yet.

I can't make out if you're the bloke off Life On Mars or Mr P in disguise.

maybe you should mention a league cup final appearance in which we wuz robbed, or our stunning victory over norwich to gain promotion, or 4 roller coaster seasons in the toughest league in the world in which at one point we stood 4th with 8 games left, or the fact we've shed some dead-wood and still remain 2nd in the cc with 2 games in hand - or that lots of our fans have morphed into moaning, negative twonks? i suggest you let your coma persist a few years longer until you wake up with something positive to say...... **thumbup
welcome....

It reminded me of Cathy Bates character in the film "Misery" - that scene with the sledge hammer still worries me :(
