Ticket Prices; Petitions

Just read a very good article in todays Sunday Express about ticket pricing. Basically it's having a good grumble about prices here compared with other european countries. For example you can watch Bayern Munich for JUST £8.50. The cheapest tickets at Bolton this season have been £36. Some seats at Arsenal have been £94.

They suggest a couple of sites for petitioning, and I think it's in our own interests to do so.

The Football Supporters Federation (FSF). Has launched a campaign demanding a three year freeze on ticket prices and a maximum £15 price for away supporters. Their site is.

www.fsf.org.uk/petitions

Apparently this reporter has gleaned his information for his article from information supplied by the INDEPENDENT Football Governance Reseach Centre, based at the University of London. The other website is the government one at.

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/lowertickets/

Now is the time-because the clubs are trembling. Chelsea have announced a freeze on prices for next season and Bolton have said season ticket prices will be 10 per cent cheaper next season.

Now is the time for Football fans everywhere to shout the odds and stop being ripped off.

The tipping point is going to come when politicians realise that there is a bagful of votes to be had by sorting this out. Anything that helps to convince them of that is a good thing imo **thumbup

I saw a quote from the Blackburn chairman the other day where he said that the club had dropped season ticket prices in an effort to win back "lapsed users". Jack Walker must be turning in his grave.
This is part of the problem, most clubs are run by people who would be better off selling mobile phone contracts.

I'd say Jack Walker was the original 'buy the title' man.

He did exactly what Roman did but with less money.

'Lapsed Users' is a disgraceful term for a 'football supporter' though.

Just had a phone call from my hubby who is a baggies fan. He's just been texted to tell him ST prices for next season down 25% regardless of what season they are in.

It's only current blues St HOLDERS that get the discount so what will the others pay.
Another ticket rip off and the game is full of it.

I did not know that, do we have to buy them by a certain date?

The 20% discount is for S/T holders who renewed before 28th June last year.
