Don't disagree with any of his comments on ticket prices - and it's good to hear it at long last - but I have to ask why it has taken him 14 years to figure that out.

He is the chairman. He chaired the board meeting last summer where they decided to stiff us on this year's ST prices. Why wasn't he saying "what we really want is full houses" then ?

It's an uncomfortable truth but those fans that have stayed away this season have done us all a favour. It's only the reality of rows and rows of empty seats that have made the board reconsider their money-grabbing pricing strategy.

we are no different to most other clubs - welshburn had about the same crowd last night for a big fa cup replay against arsenal with a quarter-final place at stake as we did against leeds..

i'm impressed with gold's words, i hope i'm as impressed with the clubs' subsequent actions...

There is a groundswell movement to curb admission prices.
Quite possibly started by Blackburn and Bolton.

All our club are doing is bandwagon-jumping, the truth will only be seen in next year's prices. Next year's wage bill will go a long way to determining admission price.

So, if we are going to throw money at big players and big wages (DS) - we may not have the reduction that Blackburn and Bolton are considering.

Proccs - Blackburn v Arsenal was on TV,Ibelieve, Blues - Leeds wasn't.And the gooners had just forked out for a ten hour trip to Cardiff, so the replay might have been a kind of after-the-lord-mayor's-show.

Arn't we the lucky ones only paying approx £19 per game and we can get 6 people in for £5 each! where is the incentive to us STH. Wake up Sullivan and Gold. Next you will be saying that you started everyone off reducing their STC prices, get in the real world and try to look after the people that you constantly moan about, us STC holders. feed.back

he talks sense gold, its just sullivan got a bit emotional in his comments.

note however, the clubs that have announced reductions...everton, wigan, blackburn, bolton.......the big clubs will sell out every week...

i wont be interested in the premiership in 5 years unless a salary cap or similar feature is introduced, its a disgrace

yes because they are purposely choosing games that are on cold nights, early sunday mornings ect, and advertising that they are lowing ticket prices & they know not as many fans are interested in these particular games, i would like to see if blackburn will lower the prices in the premiership on a normal saturday 3.00pm kick against the likes of man utd, liverpool, chelsea ect.

they're saying 25% reduction in season ticket prices, so unless they've employed michael fish to arrange their fixtures it will be in all weather conditions i guess...

the incentive is that I will be going to the match Sunday with friends and family who can't normallay afford to come to the game with me! I think it is a step in the right direction and never moan about this type of thing as its all about attracting fans **thumbup

but suppose thats just good business sense... lowering prices to less attractive games is a way to sell tickets... big matches pretty much sell them self
