I always understood it would add an extra 5000 to the gate taking the capacity upto 35.000 (ish) There is a possibility that the City council will build the City of Birmingham stadium and that BCFC were in discussion with them, If it happened the proceeds from the sale of StAndrews would be put into the pot to aid the building costs. DS said that a basic 55.000 seat stadium could be built for as little as £70m to £80m but the one being discussed would cost in the 100's of millions as the council want is as a showpiece for the City. If the new stadium idea does not happen he will consider re-building the main stand. |
