My lad is Ten and at the start of the season he asked if he could come to the Blues. He had shown little interest in football but as a home game involves a 2 hour each way I was delighted to buy him an ST he also happens to be a great kid.

He has not missed a home weekend game and has attended the mid week games when on half term. We went to Coventry (he asked when we could have a Stadium like the Ricoh) and also to Plymouth, much closer that St Andrews.

He asked today who was playing on the TV I told him it was Liverpool v Man U he said I hope Man U win. I replied "I thought you hated Man U" he said "I do but I hate Liverpoll more" when I asked him why he said "because of what they did to us last season"

So he's got that bit, now I have to explain about V$%%A....any suggestions to help put our BCFC/AVFC relationship into context given that he has never lived in Brum and the other lot not register with him at all?

Yes, I would certainly agree about the Blues-Vile games - the 3-0, 0-2 and 2-2 games have pride of place in my video collection. If anything demonstrates the passionate hatred towards them, then those matches do.

I know what you could do, introduce him to a stuck up idiot viler fan, ask the viler fan to sing a viler song to him, get the viler fan to explain why he knows more about football than the average blues fan and then get the viler to sing '!"£$ on the city' as loud as he can in his face.

This is harsh but it will leave an everlasting impression on the lad.

Sorted ;) :banner:

Congratulations South West - sounds like you're doing a great job **thumbup

Tell him to close his eyes & say " Hail King Trevor" at 11.29 on Sunday (4th March) and we'll beat the Welsh Mob.

Just thought I'd mention. I've grown up about 70miles from Birmingham, and so meet very few viler fans, I know for a fact I don't feel the rivalry as much as most fans. I see my biggest rivals as Derby as I live alot closer and know many Derby fans, you will most probably find your son will feel the same as I

Both my sons were born in Canada but they only have to watch my performance when the viler Blues games are on the TV to see the rivalry. :Blues:
