How Many Points; for automatic promotion ?

I know we talked about this but it was some time ago and the table is clearer (ish). I reckon we need about 88 to be sure of automatic promo. That means 21 points from 11 games - less than 2 points per game - should be possible surely. How many points does everyone else feel ?

SB was aiming for 90 at the beginning of the season. Few if any second placed teams have achieved this. I think 88 is a fair target, which is 7 wins from 11 games. (or 6 wins and 3 draws)

I've said all season 88 points will be certain.Still think we can do that with, 6 x wins and 3 draws, leaving 2 for loses.......
What we need to guard against is,
1, not letting top 6 teams win the game..ie a piont will do.
2, Having said that, not drawing to many then not finding the 6 wins.............................
The 6 should be.
Barnsley [a].Coventry,Sheff Wed,Burnley,Saints, and any one of the other six games......... :applause:

84 points - maybe not enough or maybe it is !!!

Why is it that when somebody puts up what appears to be a more realistic, if still optimistic list of results based upon current form , everybody chooses to ignore it in favour of the Blue Tinted spectacle list ?

Is it perhaps because the end result could still be in question ?

Stop counting chickens people, many did that when we were 8 points clear yet alone one or two !

dont like setting targets etc as it puts a lot more pressure on, and enhances the disappointment if the prediction for that game doesnt come right. Take each week as it comes, and see what we need to do in the scenario, im confident we'll be fine, and we'll be Champions

I think 85 will do it this season. The table is more compressed than last season with everyone beating everyone else. So the points totals needed will be lower.

Can't see the teams below averaging much more than 2 points per match. 85 for us means that WBA and Sunderalnd need 23 points from 10 matches. Quite a performance.

85 means we need another 18 points from 11 matches.

Achievable.

if we maintain out points average based on this season so far then we should be relegated

i think if we beat derby and albion and norwich then we are more than half way there imo
