I think this is:

a) encouraging and shows depth of the squad
B) clever as it keeps the fringe players sharper for rest of season - I am sure that some of them will be required.

It would be ace if the Force and DJ score as the higher morale affect would be priceless.

James McPike got the fourth, Just got back from the match. Very accomplished performance. Then again it was a very strong side for a reserve match and much stronger than that put out by west brom.

Notable performances by Julian Gray and Tebs. The Forss is coming back. Played full 90 minutes but looks like he still needs one or two more matches before being thrown back in. DJ Campbell and Danns showed some nice touches, as did Kilkenny.

Could have had one or two more but for some dodgy offside calls and near misses. Certainly worth the trip. Managed to get in for free and all.

So good to hear the Force is back and getting goals again, Steve Bruce is really pleased with his fitness in the evening mail 2nite. SB said it's the best the Force has looked for 2 years. Good news, its going to be a hard run in until the end of the season, we may need him **thumbup

Definitely a good sight. Looks a lot more confident but even tonight he is not fully right. I think at championship tempo he could do well for 45 mins or so but he is really going to need to be eased back into it. Last time we rushed him back we paid the price. And there is plenty of cover up front now.

He had a good first half tonight but after 60 or so mins he wasn't in the game half as much. But he hasn't lost the predatory instinct, though he should have had a hat-trick but he missed a one on one with the keeper and put ne just wide as well. So he hasn't lost the predatory instinct thats for sure. Just about building him up until it is certain that he is ready.

Must be a mistake because nafti was subbed after about 60 mins along with Jonty. It was definitely mcpike that scored because he came on for DJ Campbell with about 10 mins to go and scored in the first minute of injury time.

Either that or I was watching a completely different match at the hawthorns!! :o

From the Baggies board:

And the visitors eventually grabbed their fourth in the final minute when James McPike slid Nafti in for him to spin and pick out the bottom right-hand corner of the net.

Perhaps you were watching a different game after all. :)

I must have been. :P I swear I saw nafti sitting in his tracksuit on the wall by the dugout signing autographs for kids during the last 10 minutes.

Can anyone who was there back me up on this one or am I really losing the plot?? :D

Just looking at the match report on blues site and it says that dicker came on for kilkenny and howland for pearce. Kilkenny finished the match.

At my "imaginary match" howland came on for jonty and dicker for nafti. Then McPike came on for Campbell who looked like he'd picked up a strain to his leg. But as above maybe i've been sat at a very different match this evening!!

In the last minute James Mcpike, on for Campbell slotted home a fourth to give the scoreline a realistic look

That's from the planet Blues website. You feel better now?
