Forest boss Colin Calderwood is looking to bolster his squad as the season enters its final stretch.

Calderwood made an approach to Birmingham, but the player himself decided against a move to The City Ground.

Personaly I think it would be a mistake to let anyone go anywhere at this stage of the seson. We need depth for the squeeky Bum run in.

Yet SB was prepared to let him go???
Why exactly did he buy Danns then?
Why does he rarely play him in his natural position to evaluate his true capabilities?
Why has he never had a "run" in the Team in his natural position?
It must be reassuring for players like Kilkenny to know that SB is prepared to let a player go who is higher in the pecking order! wtf**

surely its common courtesy to inform the player of an approach then he decides,

To strengthen the squad I assume, doubt the player was ever going to be a first choice or even led to believe so !

Why does he rarely play him in his natural position to evaluate his true capabilities?

Hull Away, did you see his performance ?

Why has he never had a "run" in the Team in his natural position?

What would your reaction to Bruce have been had he remained in the team following his performance at Hull ?

It must be reassuring for players like Kilkenny to know that SB is prepared to let a player go who is higher in the pecking order! wtf**

Kilkeeny is to lightweight for this division to hold down a regular spot !

Danns hasn't been impressive, people say play him in his natural position, if he was that good of a midfielder he would have shown something note worthy by now, Kilkenny is by far the better player but is more suited to the premiership, like the above said he is to light weight to be a CM in this division.

but that could be down to what SB has told him to do.

he said that SB has told him to hold his runs into the box, so it may not be his game to do that.

killkeny and danns wont get into the team on a regular bacis because they are not as good as defending.

we all know that SB want defecive minded players in the center.

danns hasn't really made the step up... maybe the move was a bit soon for him? at the moment we can't let any one out, we have a tough run in coming up!

maybe next season we could loan himout and let him get a season of first team football under his belt!! after that he may well be ready? I think he has the ability

Next season we could [should] be in the premership if Bruce don't fancy him now he sure won't then, the best hope for Danns is that we get premoted a new manager comes in ,and likes the look of him , **thumbup then everyones happy **thumbup

But surely Brucie should know the strengths of his own players and how to get the most out of them, isn't that what good managers do, it just seems as though Danns was a fad that he had, like a kid with a drum set now he doesn't know what to do with him.

He obviously bought him with creativity in mind, just seems an odd signing to me, ah well, he will probably come on and score the winner against Derby now. :banner:

bruce should know the strenths of his players.

but danns said himself that his game is about running into the box to get on the end of things but SB told him to hold his position.

i get the feeling SB wants a player that can do both but it's very rare that you find that in a midfielder.

if you tell players to do things that are not there natural game then i'm not surprised he cant make the step up.

Danns has done ok for me when he's been in the team, he can sometimes try to hard to prove himself & hang onto the ball to long, but if you think about it he has came on a few times & scored having been on 10 minutes! I would like to see either him or Kilkenny get a run in CM with either Clemence or Muamba!

Just made me laugh that's all!

As doc says...
If Danns said "No!" then he was obviously asked....
If he was asked then Brucie must have been prepared to let him go....
If Brucie is so keen to let him go six months after he signed Danns, then why did he buy him in the first place?
Cos he doesn't know what he is doing that's why!

Truth is....
If you see a cow pat in a field and it looks like a cow pat and smells like a cow pat then chances are it's a cow pat....
After all thousands of flies can't be wrong can they?

So what we witness at our Club looks like a cow pat and smells like a cow pat but in this case it isn't a cow pat....
and in this instance thousands of fans are wrong aren't they?
Oh! I keep forgetting....
Brucie knows what he's doing.....

SB is relying on the individual brilliance of individual players which Brucie has to be commended for encouraging to join the Club....
But it certainly is not anything to do with planning and preparation and strategy and tactics and game plan and what else was it Cunningham said without denial from any other player in the squad???

And I'll still be there on Friday night cheering and supporting my Team after buying my Season Tickets for over forty years....
And I'll still be there when SB has gone with his pay packet leaving the mess behind him for someone else to clear up....
I don't deny SB is passionate; I don't deny that he wants to succeed; I don't deny that he's doing all that he can and that he is a genuinely nice guy....
But he has been promoted way above his level of ability....
And I, you and every other fan of this great Club of ours actually put money IN....
Everyone else takes it OUT....
That's another reason why I and you are entitled to have our say!

Correct me if I am wrong, but Danns was being courted by a number of clubs last summer.

We have done nothing for him. Has he improved his game in the 7/8 months he has been with us? it's easy to buy good players and see them play well; much harder to improve good players so they become better. Why is it he hasn't got better??

Danns was a big fish in a small pond last season.

He has moved to us and is no longer a big fish.

He has shown himself to be a good professional and has played his part along with everyone else.

Some people will never be happy. Drop Muamba for Danns and its wrong.
Drop Clemence for Danns and its wrong.
Drop DJ for the tea lady and its the best decision of the season.

Danns is a good player who has been kept out of the side by other good players. He has been played out of poition at times, just like everyone else, because contrary to belief our squad doesn't have the players to cover every position like-for-like.

Forrst came in and they were turned down. Press reports Danns himself turned them down and it is turned into yet another criticism of Bruce.

Just suppose the board were willing to accept an offer if the player was interested and Bruce, like the Upson saga, had no choice in the mattter. Oh no, wait a minute, that wont fit into the anti Bruce bow locks will it.

And acting dumb for stupid's sake doesn't work either....
Maybe the "Clueless" all have the same mentality....
But in my small world there is no way I would go out and spend money on something I wasn't going to use!
The question is....
Why buy Danns and not use him?
The next question is....
Why even consider selling Danns when he is higher in the pecking order than Kilkenny?
If SB is prepared to consider selling Danns who is higher in the pecking order than Kilkenny, what message does that send to Kilkenny?
Does Bruce just like spending money and buying players without any forethought or plan in mind?
In doing so he is destroying dreams....
Or do they all just come for the money?
If they do, then don't be suprised if they move on for the money either then!

for a player to go out on loan it has to go through the manager.

the upson buisness is a completly different mater for the simple reason as to the money involved.

if the manager did'nt want him to go it would have been either.

SB did'nt want him to go out on loan or danns and SB did'nt want him to go.

instead we have the quote from the player saying he did'nt want to go.

danns is an atacking CM and not defencive minded and so he dos'nt fit into SB's plans, SB likes to play with two attacking wide men and two defencive CM's and danns is'nt too good on the wing so he wont play him in the center.

After watching a bit of Danns last season, he played basically as an attacking midfielder. He had no defensive responsibilities whatsoever allowing him the freedom to make those charges into the box that brought him so many goals.

He isn't a smart enough player yet to realise when he can and can't go for said runs, whilst Clemence is, and he lacks the engine of Muamba to be able to get himself back into position if it all goes wrong. Hence why Bruce has tried to use him more often out wide, where it isn't so critical an area if he is caught out of position.

As he's only 24, it's plenty of time for him to learn the manner in which Bruce wants him to play, which is simply to be more disciplined, and he's still a good option to have to come off the bench when chasing a game because he has that ability to be in the right place to nick a goal.
