Has anyone heard whether the pitch is still sodden? Not sure if anyone from the club can comment, but would be good to know if the game on Friday night is going to be another mud bath or if they've managed to dry it out at all. |

Anyone know what the pitch is like now ? Have they cleared the yachts and ducks and is it in reasonable shape for a game of football. It would be awful if the game is decided by the depth at the shallow end. |

I totaly agree... I sat row 2 by the corner flag at the weekend and the water was terrible. I really REALLY hope the grounds keepers do us proud and spend every waking moment mopping up and making the pitch sound. |

The Pitch will be fine. Although it is a new surface, there is nothing you can do about the amount of rain we had over the weekend, most golf courses were closed, my local club said the 4th green was completely under water. We won the match in the mud, so may be our trump card, Derby have been banging them in lately. Though we have broken our Sky TV hoodoo it seems in the past few weeks. A note on the pitch, don't condemn a crappy pitch to soon, remember how we got to Cardiff in the Carling Cup??? |

If a goods faulty i think you have 6 month to return it :D. About the pitch though, it does not allow us to play free flowing football, but the same applies for the opposition. So if it does happen to be a big boggy, you would have though we would have a major advantage because we have played on it already and know what to expect. Lets just wait and see. Come on Blues!! |

I can see why you would say that but I'm not convinced. If the ball sticks in a puddle it sticks in a puddle and it doesn't help knowing that it might happen. Same with bounce - if it hits the ground just in front of you it doesn't help knowing that sometimes it bounces and sometimes it doesn't. If anything it makes it worse because we are looking for it to do something odd all the time whereas the oppo just get on with it. My view anyway ... |

Yeh also very true, because its so different all over, we could end up on the reciving end of the pitch i.e. the ball being hoofed up field by the oppo and then just stopping when it lands and give them easy control. |

Since when have we played like that? LOL Nothing to do with the pitch mate......it's all about the standard of players, the coaching and the preparation. |

Pitch gives City the Blues 15:35 - 8th, Mar 2007 Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce has admitted the controversial St Andrew's pitch is a 'disaster area' and has revealed that it will be dug up and re-laid in the summer. City paid £100,000 to have their pitch re-laid in January, but the Championship promotion-hopefuls remain troubled by a poor surface and ahead of Friday's clash with Derby County have installed inflatable covers in an attempt to dry it out. 'A lot has been said and written about the pitch and it is a disaster area for us,' admitted Bruce. 'We've done everything we possibly can as a club to make sure it is right but we are struggling. 'I think it has been a disadvantage to us because, when you are used to playing on a rubbish pitch, you do become a bit wary of it. 'It will have to be re-laid in the summer. It is a shame because only a couple of years ago it was the best pitch in the league.' |
