I was somewhat bemused last night by the amount of people clapping a disgusting tackle on one of our opponents, which rightly deserved a straight red card.

Why clap someone who, with 15 minutes still left to play serious put our lead in jepordy and got himself a 3 match ban?

Maybe it was in appreciation of his contribution to the teams efforts in the the previous 74 mins..

only a guess you understand.

Precisely. It was an intense match, McSheffrey lost his head and went in stupidly.

Yes, it was stupid and not mature, but at least Bruce has plenty of players to compensate the loss. Plus Sheffers needs a break, hes looking really tired right now.

Not to forget that Derby defender needed sending off for pulling Vine down.

exactly mate ....

i think we were all clapping his commitment if anything, the tackle was pretty bad but we have players who are commited to the blues cause , and that is really refreshing now...

we did not see any of that when we were in the prem... :Blues:

Clapping that he'd done well up to then, put the effort in, and i didn't think it was that bad a tackle. It was a typical forwards lunge. There was another similar tackle in the game, by one of their players on Clem i think, which went un-noticed.

Shef played superbly up until his stupidly rash steaming in with 2 feet, what an idiot. He deserves whatever punishment the club impose, chiefly for letting us all down by having to miss 3 games in the crucial run in to the end of the season.

Then once he's done his time he will be welcome back to show what he can do again. I am one of his biggest fans, but his moment of madness last night can't be left unpunished.

But he's still my player of the season.

clapping to show support and solidarity, not clapping a rash, stupid, untimely tackle that sees him out for 3 games and possibly adversely affect our promotion chances... ;)

It could be just the opportunity to let Julian Gray have a few games on the left....

All we have to do is provide him with some ear plugs and he should be fine **thumbup

2 out of the 3 games he'll play while the sheff is suspended will be away from home anyway so there wont be that much booing and laughing at how lazy he is.
I just hope the lazy melt trys to take the chance he will hopefully be given, I dont agree with moving larsson to the left keep him on the right and put a natural left winger in gray on the left.

In a ll fairness to McSheffrey he'll no hes done wrong and he lunged into to win the ball and was quiet late, infact extremely late, ive also seen alot worse tackles as well, he had no intent on injurying the bloke like some other players do and it was a genuine attempt for the ball plus he was probably abit annoyed at the fact that the ref was useless and everytime he was fouled nothing was given.

Ref was awful in my opinion. steve bennett always is though so nothing new there. :banghead:

Well if your that disgusted , take a look at the Derby player hanging off hes neck 20 seconds before frustraion got the better of him. I am disgusted with mr bennett and hes 1 rule for 1 and then theres Birmingham

Imo if Blues have to break legs to get out of this poxy division its ok by me, its about time our players started putting theirselves about,

Mcsheffrey got angry because the derby player was literally choking him then he lost he's temper but still no excuse but if you think about it if the ref done he's job and stopped play for blatent fouling mcsheffrey wouldnt have lost it, but anyway i just hope sb puts gray on the left wing and not larsson, as he definately is not a fan of grays imo gray will do well in this division, has tons of pace!

I've got to agree. It was a very very stupid thing for him to do and he has cost us severly. We now have to play 3 games without our top goal scorer and provider.

I certaintly won't clap a player that has done that to us. Superb as he is he let himself, his team mates and his fans down.
