Well done Bear for your efforts. Can I suggest one thing which I think would be more important the bigger the flag - it needs to be "landscape" rather than "portrait" (i.e. Wider than it is deep). It just looks so much better when passed around.

The club should fund this. £5k for a big flag is peanuts (especially if we're getting premiership money next season). Could get the stewards to store it away after games & to bring it out for the next game.

You don't get much for £800 these days do you?

Surely it can be produced for a hell of a lot less than £1,000?

I thought the idea of a flag last season was great and congratulate the bear for organising it and taking the trouble at matches. However the flag hasnt been seen for ages and IMO there seems little point in organising a collection or sponsorship for a new one unless someone can take responsibilty for its appearance at every home match. Therefore before we all go throwing money in a pot or arranging sponsorship perhaps consideration should be firstly given to its appearance.
And for the record, I'm afraid I'm not volunteering.

so i take it the club would not look after the flag then, surely wouldnt be that hard for the club to look after it and then bring it out every other home game or something.

best idea is the collection buckets around the ground, if you could manage to get that going, with say £1 donations from around 20,000 fans, you will have more than enough for a flag.

no like the posts above - the best idea is to get confirmation that the flag will be brought out at each game first...no point raising money for a flag to line a locker with...
