Djmmusic. sorry about the delay in replying to your question.

"Best start winning every game then to make sure".

The more point we get, the more they'll deduct. We're done for! we're done for!

"I'm saying that in the previous year the runners up played in Europe and in the Year after they did also.

The above statement is somewhat contradictory to

"Your missing the point that the 'Winner' of the cup must of qualified for Europe by some other means for the 'Loser' to then take their place."

The point is IF Leicester and Blackburn had already qualified for Europe through the league, then Tranmere and Tottenham would of played in Europe even if they lost the final.

Where is the evidence for this ?

Read this BBC article which clearly stats that due to Liverpool winning both Cups that year that 4th, 5th and 6th Qualify for Europe.

Prem run 2001

Nothing in this article that mentions anything about the League Cup one way or the other.

Seems unlikely to me that in 1998, the runners up didn't enter Europe, then in 2000 they would have done had the circumstances been so, didnt in 2001, would have done in 2002, but again in 2006 the runners up didnt enter Europe.

I dont think even the FA/Football League/UEFA would have changed the rules at least five times in a decade

You got me on the 1st one :applause: the 1st comment should of said 'they would of played in Europe if the winning team.................blah, blah, blah.

This next bit is cut directly from the bbc article link I gave - so you obviously did not read it all...

Uefa Cup

Thanks to Liverpool's success in the FA Cup and Worthington Cups, the teams placed fourth, fifth and sixth in the Premiership will all qualify for the Uefa Cup.

:P

I'm going to email the FA - as it's the FA that decide who qualifies through what Comp.

To be honest the FA change their minds like the wind so 5 decision changes in 10 years is not so mad as you may think.

And again - we got an extra place in Europe with the CL recently, so that would of provided another 'rule' change.

I'll let you know their reply! **thumbup -
