Great to see Colin Doyle called into the Ireland squad - better late than never!!!

Fully justified reward for his performances with the Blues - well on his way to being the first Corkman since the 1930s to play in goals for Ireland.

was thinking this a few weeks back that he should be in there as back-up to Shay Given, especially considering Paddy Kenny's recently retired from International Football.

All The Best Doylie!!

It would seem to be in his own hands - Kenny retired; Colgan at Barnsley not setting the world on fire; Henderson in the reserves at Preston......

doesnt really matter on that really. Only Given has had Prem experience really for Ireland, as Kenny's only played the one season (and had retired).

Doyle will only be back up for Shay, which is to be expected, as Given is one of the best goalies in the country IMO

Personally, I'd prefer to see Taylor back in the first eleven, too.

Excellent news for Colin. Hopefully he can learn a thing or two from Given as well, and eventually take over the number one jersey himself.
