to anyone who knew Paul McCann of Halesowen who was one of the two sailors that died on HMS Tireless he will be remembered.
I had the pleasure of travelling to away games in the 90's with a group of lads and paul or "ginger paul" as he became known was a proper stand up kid that had blue blood.he lived on the edge with extreme sports and joined the Navy but still managed to see Birmingham City as often as possible.
Paul you will join many blues and take your seat on the roof of whichever stand you choose.God Bless

This is very sad. I'm in the RN and I've seen all the reports. I didn't know that Paul was a Bluenose, and the poor bu**er would have been stuck up in Scotland a lot of the time and missed a lot of games. His family will be looked after, and our thoughts are with them and the crew of the Tireless.

Found this......

In a tribute to Leading Operator Mechanic (LOM) Paul McCann, Cdr Breckenridge said: "He was simply the kind of man a commanding officer could call on at any time and in any circumstances – his exuberance, good humour and huge personality are greatly missed by all of his shipmates."
Yorkshire Post News

Rest in peace Paul, our thoughts are with your family & friends.

I heard it on the news yesterday..that he was a Blues supporter. Very sad for anyone to pass away so young but as a Blues supporter there is that extra touch of sadness as if he was a personal friend.
RIP Paul.
