I doubt very much whether even in the most biased view of what has happened any person not buying a season ticket this term has paid anywhere near the amount paid by ST purchasers.

You are repeating the fallacy.

What is wrong with you wisel?

I'll try it in simple english.
A person who bought a season ticket this year, will have paid LESS than anyone who went walk-up on every special discount going.

Please do not keep repeating untruths wisel, they don't become fact if you repeat them enough you know.

:D

No they will not! No metter how many times you reeat it.

I have no intention of re-eating anything wisel.

As you do not have the ability to admit when you are wrong, and are spreading lies, I see no point in furthering this side track.

Its all old news to me this was areadyo n teh cards before any other teams dropped ticket prices. It was part of the offer to season ticket buyers at the start of teh current season. Those who havent brought a season cant moan that they wont get there discount as they never stood by the club when we was relagated and decided to choose the games they wanted to go to if any whereas season tikcet holders have shown there loyalty and deserve the deduction.

Look Letsby we can stand either side of this arguiament and call each other names if that's what turns you on, or you could try to understand what I dais in the first place and then we could move on. Which would you like.

Oh by the way, I removed my post becuase it wasn't quite what I wanted to say. You were too quick to jump on someones minor mistake, but that's you I guess.

So hang about a bit. I decide not to take 10% off this season in order to qualify for the 20% off next season, and now those who did take the 10% are getting the 20% as well?

Can we get some official guidance from the club on this one, because I don't really wish to take an article from that paper as gospel. If the article is correct, then I won't be particularly happy.

so what your saying is it's ok for the club to price people out of the game they love and have supported for many years?

there fans out there who cant aford £380 let aloan 475 and it's these fans we need back.

sure there some that have said no i wont pay this amount anymore and i count my self in that group but what about the others?

The club has to clear this up sooner rather than later.

We all expect the prices to be high its called the modern game.

In a ideal world the prices should be lower and affordable for everyone.

I know the club quotes how much it costs to bring players in and what it costs to run a club.

You have to expect the Business to run itself when it comes to money.

If you and all the fans pay 200 pounds for a season ticket then expect a 200 pound team.

I know the club comes accross as ripping people off but they will never please everyone all the time.

For me its really simple if you can't afford it don't buy it. Then the business will have to address the problem of no fans. I can't believe that everyone is blaming the club for the cost of watching football thought. Of course they will make money its called a business not a charity and they are trying to grow and balance the books. You can blame the club for all the confusion in pricing and discounts given or not given but not for the price that it costs to watch football. That blame lies solely at the feet of the over paid footballers. There the reason you can not afford to go to football and not the club.

Thats my opinion and i could be right or wrong in everyones eyes.

Thing is northside blue, whilst i respect you if you did make a stand, they could get every unloyal supporter turning around and saying well i was just making a stand etc etc. There has to be some way of governing who gets the reduced prices next year based on loyalty. If we get to the Prem, it would to offer 'new' fans the same as old loyal ones so there has to be a cut off point somewhere. Unfortunately, when dealing with 20,000 odd people there will always be some who feel aggreived to every decision from 20% price reductions to little things like changing what pies you can get or summat saft!!

If we stay in the Championship i'm sure everyone will be offered be the offered the discount and rightly so. But if we do get to the Prem, there should be a cut off, one which will rub some up the wrong way.

Why do we expect the prices to go up every year?

Premeirship clubs are at this moment reducing prices for all their fans come next season, whether they be ST holderss or pay on the day fans. And they are using the same source of income that has driven the fans away in the first place - TV money - to subsidise it.

However Blues are not doing this.

Although applauding the intiatives of other cllubs, in reducing prices, Blues have not reduced by one penny, any future price. Instead, they have stuck by their silly last minute pledge from last year to reduce ST renewals for a 2nd year. This will in fact give them a window to create more "silly offers" for the lower crowd-pullers, whether it be Southend or Wigan, next season. It will not increase any new ST buyers if we don't get promoted.

This board have ripped the supporters off every year. From the time of Fry and their "Free" club watches, where you had to spend £14 on the phone to get a "Free club watch" ................. to the handling fee of each away ticket ( to cover costs) which they obtain in bulk without cost.

If you can't afford it, don't buy it.
**thumbup

But we are talking about love, desire and belief. This is the blues and no rationalisination is going to minimise the need to watch blues. It is the object of all our desires. We are bluejunkies and will pay anything we can afford, grab any offer we can find to satisfy our needs.
And the board know this. And crank it up year by year to see how far they can go to subsidise our manager's plans.

If we had a manger with a plan, or a clue or an ability, it might not cost so much.

As it is, Steve Bruce has lost this club more money in wasted wages, non-performance, failure and income, than any other manager in the HISTORY of blues.

And still we want to buy the product.
But less last year.
Less this winter and less in the future.

This board is weening us off our drug.

brumjaep, i had the same s/t number for all those years so they know exactly how loyal me & my family were.
They never chose to reward any of us in all that time , its only happening now because so many told them where to stick it.
i'm really pleased for everybody who gets a discount but i genuinly feel those who stayed away played a large part in forcing the issue. As for next season the ball is in their court . ;)

I kept the letter that was sent out last year to renew ST. The offer was that if you renew by 18th June then there will be a 20% discount for season 07/08 (25% if you take up a two year ST) and prices frozen at 06/07 rates even for season 08/09.
However, because sales were down the club later decided to reduce the current 06/07 ST prices by 10% BUT those who took up that offer would NOT get the 20% reduction in 07/08. I havent got that second letter but I believe they were going to get a 10% reduction in 07/08. In addition those that had originally paid the full amount were offered the 10% reduction as a refund BUT would not get the 20% in 07/08.
So what does this all mean.
As someone who paid the full price and elected to have the 20% I have got what was promised.
Those that are not currently ST holders will presumably have to pay the full amount.
Now the web site says that those 06/07 ST holders that opted for the 20% reduction for 07/08 must renew by 2nd June. It says nothing about those that opted for the 10% reduction so I believe their letters/options will be anounced later.
However has anyone who took the 10% reduction in 06/07 been offered the 20% for 07/08????

:Blues: I think we should all remember that football is now a business

Nope, football is first and foremost a sport.

A sport that has been hijacked by businessmen.

Who have brainwashed fans into repeating the mantra that "football is a business".

Tesco is a business. Football is a sport.

Our sport.

And I for one want it back.

Well the article says Here Karren Brady, managing director of Championship high-flyers Birmingham City, tells MARTIN PHILLIPS why her club is cutting ticket prices.

Headline says Soccer boss backs campaign

By KARREN BRADY
Managing Director,
Birmingham City
March 23, 2007

As she has a weekly column in The Sun aswell. Don't think she would give such an interview with the fear of being misquoted by them.

I get the impression the club are panicking about next season, trying to keep fans happy by backing The Sun and there very good campaign, but as usual cocking the whole thing up yet again.
