So let's compare it on a consumer basis, acjboyle.

A man strives for years to accumulate a deposit for a house.  After a few years struggling to pay off the mortgage, interest rate rises or redundancy forces repossession of his property as he is no longer able to keep up the payments.  Through no fault of his own, he loses his investment and he and his family are thrown out onto the street.

Many of the long-standing Blues fans, loyal supporters through thick and thin, now find it impossible to watch their beloved team due to exorbitant ticket prices.  I imagine they feel just as let down as the man who lost his house.  Are you saying that these supporters should discard their loyalty and find a club they can afford to watch?

It's no good David Gold pontificating about the ills in the game one day and then paying a 36 year old player the takings from 3 home gates the next!  Clubs no longer have the fans at heart and, unless a stand is made by them and their supporters, the game as a spectator sport is fast approaching an end.  I bet Jimmy Hill rues the part he played in the abolition of the maximum wage!

I'm not quite sure how the man with the mortgage and family example relates to what I was saying, but I'll take on the other points in discussion.

I think the main reason why people are non-attending at St.Andrews is directly due to the fact that, as consumers of Birmingham City, they haver exercised their right to chose to go to games. There are many reasons why purchasing a match ticket has become a less attractive option for many, not going to delve into that one now. It's been discussed plenty on here..

Why people still go. Loyal Support, blind faith, love of Blues, routine, nothing better to do on a matchday, hope of one day Blues will fulfil their dream and the fact you can say you were part of that dream.

Like tobacco, porn, alcohol, other leisure related businesses, the people running the show know that they have people who are hooked on the excitement and entertainment, it's a safe consumerable business to entertain (in more ways than one)..

No one forces any one to buy a season ticket, it's a choice that people make. If 'one' doesn't think it's worth the money, then choose not to go. Unless the entertainment is provided by having a good moan..

Football is now a business, big business at that.

alot of what you say there is true although the not being forced to buy is a little off.

what about the thousands that have been priced out ?

they never chose that they were forsed to give it up.

i made the choice not to renew anymore because of the price , i could get one if i wanted but i chose to make a stand against it .

thousands dont have that choice.

Why oh why does almost everyone seem to moan on this web site.

I have not been on this web site for ages but the posts are depressing i.e not got a big enough ground, wish we had an atmosphere like that, we don't have a flag waving culture, Bruce is no good, the board is no good blah blah blo?dy blah.

I would guess many of you are not true blue noses and only jumped on the premiership bandwagon about 4/5 years ago and now can't believe we are 'only in 2nd in the championship'. Shock/horror

Let me tell you all, well thats life, thats what being a blue nose is all about, get used to it or go and support Chelsea.

Being a blue nose is all about supporting your team through thick and even more thick, being a blues fan is about celebrating like you've just won the champions league final when you get a last minute home equaliser against some nobody.

Come on stop moaning or you can all go down the vile, get a grip on reality, Blues where born to struggle and struggle we will and I am very proud of the fact that we probably alway will.

Keep right on - all true blue noses

So you've come onto this site to moan about the moaners! :LMAO:

These comments i find ridiculous. Heard of ambition, or wanting to do better? Do you apply the same stance to your own life?

........oh and Well, thank you about your wonderful insight into how to support the Blues. I'm sure i'll take your priceless advice and use it in the correct manner! :LMAO:
