hmm, that is certainly tempting, but I still don't think we should let them in |

Not now, not tomorrow and if I'm being brutally honest never ever ever will I want it to happen, and nor should it do so. IMO the problem is not with the premier league, the football league or even Rangers or Celtic. The real problem lies with the SFA and there complete inability to deal with a problem that has been emerging over a good deal of time. You don't make a league better by taking something away because all that will happen is that the big two from Glasgow will be replaced by the big two from Edinburgh. It's called management and if the SFA had managed the league earlier then maybe there would be a greater competition after all. But the issue is clouded by the likes of Hearts who showed last season that that the big two are not that far away as previously thought. It does however take investment from outside sources to create competition. The worrying sign is that the EPL is going the same way as the SPL with the top four decided before a ball is kicked and the season simply being about the order that they finish in. The PL needs to act quickly and admit that the league as it is simply does not have a future and will in fact eat itself, IMO, if the formation of a super league does come one day. In short the problems with Scottish football are best dealt with in Scotland and importing the problem into our league will not increase competition. Could you honestly see UEFA allowing the EPL to have 5 or 6 places each year of the old firm giving up the guaranteed revenue of CL? |

You must be kidding right? We're getting £35m next season even if we're relegated... I'm sure Celtic and Rangers would finish above the relegation zone, even in a European spot, if they were in our league and would make more than enough to cover their loss from CL via TV rights. Thats one of the reasons that both clubs want to be part of the Premiership. |

That saddens me the most. There isn't even the pretence that these two clubs want to come to England for the extra competition they will face from some of the world's finest players. They've just seen a pot of cash and it's all they care about. They've done nothing to earn that money, they have absolutely no right to come and take it. |

I agree. Its sad to see a team want to move leagues just for the money involved, not the competition they will face. |

:D :applause: Well ive got my views on foreign teams in the ENGLISH league system (see sig) - IMO there shouldnt be any Welsh teams or Scottish teams in our league. Noone likes the Welsh teams, the Welsh teams dont like nobody else - and adding two of the most sectarian Scottish teams into our leagues just creates more problems. And as for a good away match - journeying 300 or whatever miles to that s**thole Glasgow and being treated like s**t by 50,000 bravehearts isnt my idea of a good away. Going to London is bad enough! |

NO to scotland joining the prem or any other league down here. Play them in the league cup and imalgimate that if you want some interest. Why would we help them do anything when it would never be returned. scotland is all about take, take, take and they give us no respect either. I know in the past we did a bit of taking ourselves but that has well and trully been paid back buy the British tax payer. I again say NO to them ever been involved in the Prem or any other English league. If you do do it all the scotish sides should be included and not just the two so called fat cats that have run out of money. It would never work and just to give it to the two arragant clubs is just plain wrong. I have my tin hat on now...... :ph43r: |

Haha nah I think I'm fairly convinced now that its not a good idea to include them in the Premiership. But I like your idea about making a league cup with them involved. I think that sounds like a much better idea. |

I have been saying for a few years now that they should enter ALL Scottish teams into the Coca-Cola League cup (or whatever it's called now). The League cup is **** until the semi finals because no-one outside the top 10 of the Prem takes it seriously at all. At least if the Scottish clubs were introduced it would help in the first year with it being a bit 'gimmicky', then who knows, it might work. I would sooner Blues got drawn against Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs etc than Shrewsbury again. |
