Posted Image Starting with Liverpool, it's been given the go-ahead to be built. Building will start this summer and in 2008 it will be built! BUT WHY OH WHY IS IT ONLY 61,000 SEATS?! I'm sure a club such as Liverpool could get the same gates as Manchester United, especially seeing that they've got the Gillettes to splash the dosh to get a world-beating team on Merseyside. Posted Image MK Dons stadium, with 30,000 capacity is meant to be opening this summer. However, how can MK Dons get gates of 30,000?! Really?! Posted Image Southend want a new 22,000 seater stadium and demolish Roots Hall. However, that idea is a long shot away seeing as Southend have been relegated back to League One. Other proposed stadia from around Europe: Posted Image Club: Athletic de Bilbao Scheduled inauguration: 2012/2013 Capacity: 56,000 seats Posted Image Club: Valencia CF Scheduled inauguration: May 2009 Capacity: 75,000 seats Posted Image Club: Heart of Midlothian FC Scheduled inauguration: n/a Capacity: 40,000 seats Posted Image Club: FC Zenit St.Petersburg Scheduled inauguration: 2009 Capacity: 62,200 seats |

none of the pics work mate with MK Donald's stadium (which will probably look identical to Pride Park) the ground will be capable of holding 30,000 but the club will only apply for safety certificate for 22,000 spectators. their average attendence is 5,832 |

Much of that is due to the fact that they have been playing in the National Hockey Stadium, which only has a capacity of 8,800. Granted, the average is well below that, with 7,800 home seats available. I, too, can't see them filling a 22,000 (or 30,000) stadium just yet, but local support is growing slowly - I know many fans of Prem/Champ clubs who now have ST's down there - if only because it is local, cheap, league football and avoids the need to travel to Manchester/Liverpool/London or wherever. Expect generous away allocations during (hopefully) their first season back in League 1. (Although an automatic place seems unlikely, a play-off final against our Imps friends may be on the cards.) Pete Winckleman has done a good job, IMO - not that I endorse or support moving a club from it's roots in Wimbledon just to "buy" MK a league club. (Hockey Stadium is less than 1/2 mile from where I used to live). KRO, C. |

A PS: They're 2nd in the average attendance table for League 2 games this season (although did get over 8,300 for Spurs in the League Cup in October) : Club High High Opponent Low Low Opponent Average Swindon Town 10,472 Mansfield Town(21/04/07) 5,462 Chester City(24/02/07) 7,087 MK Dons 8,044 Walsall(25/03/07) 4,564 Stockport(05/12/06) 5,939 Walsall 8,345 Shrewsbury(26/12/06) 4,070 Peterborough(12/09/06) 5,642 Stockport 7,860 Hartlepool(17/03/07) 4,089 Shrewsbury(12/09/06) 5,514 Bristol Rovers 9,902 Swindon Town(28/04/07) 4,327 Boston Utd(07/10/06) 5,480 Lincoln City 6,820 Boston Utd(26/12/06) 3,913 Bristol Rovers(05/12/06) 5,171 Wycombe 7,150 MK Dons(28/04/07) 3,885 Darlington(05/12/06) 4,983 Notts County 10,034 Mansfield Town(10/03/07) 3,010 Barnet(30/01/07) 4,973 Hartlepool 7,458 Darlington(28/10/06) 3,659 Rochdale(15/12/06) 4,971 Wrexham 7,752 Mansfield Town(31/03/07) 3,401 Darlington(23/12/06) 4,696 Peterborough 8,405 Lincoln City(23/12/06) 3,193 Barnet(26/09/06) 4,600 Shrewsbury 6,749 Wrexham(24/04/07) 3,369 Notts County(20/02/07) 4,590 Seems pretty good in comaparison for League 2 level - Question is, will it improve if they do manage to get into League 1 next season ??, or will "Wincklefield" be 3/4 empty ? Last game is at home to Accrington Stanley (Who are they ? Exactly ??), and Swindon's last game is at home to Walsall, who are gunning for the title. Goal difference may well come into play : Pos Name P W D L F A W D L F A GD PTS 1 Walsall 45 16 4 3 39 13 9 9 4 26 20 +32 88 2 Hartlepool 45 14 5 3 33 15 12 5 6 31 23 +26 88 3 Swindon Town 45 15 3 4 33 16 10 6 7 24 21 +20 84 4 MK Dons 45 13 4 5 38 25 11 5 7 35 32 +16 81 Not that I have a little "soft spot" for them or anything !!.. KRO, C. PS: It is still possible that all 4 clubs relegated from League 1 last season can still be promoted - Walsall, Hartlepool, Swindon and MK Dons. PPS: Also remember that MK Dons sent Torquay down to League 2 two years ago on goal difference. Look where Torquay are now.... Just think - Leeds are only 2 seasons away from joining them (or is that being spiteful ??? ). |

Fair play to the team from the NFL for at least producing something that looks origional. I think in years to come we will all regret the tasteless design and the fact that all of our stadiums look very much the same as each other. I applaud any club that puts fans and origionality before anything else in builing a stadium. |

Absolutely 100% agree with you. No way are we going to host a world cup with our bland and boring stadiums, even if they are new. Even Wembley is a bit disappointing considering what they could have done with it. |

Wembley has been ne mistake after another. The first being the most : where they put the blinking thing. Have a look at the improvement of infrastructure around the stadium. Shocking. I dropped my partner off at a concert recently and was appauled at the simple fact that since my last visit to the area in 2000 very little o any substance has changed |
