If we'd attacked Preston from the off, worked their goalkeeper and show some real desire that we wanted to go out there and be winners it wouldn't be so bad had Preston sneaked a 1-0 win.

As it is we lost 1-0 and we didn't really want it.

I dont think winning the league would of made much difference to our owners as the major prize is promotion and i think roy keane's attitude confirms it

just sad we couldnt finish today on a high :)

i hate preston away we always seem to never win

I don't understand. Had we attacked from the off, had a ton of chances, dominated the game, yet lost 1-0 you'd be calling for bruce's head(again) because the team can't score a goal

Bruce put out a good team and made good subs.

The players are the worry.

However, i still dont think Bruce is the man to lead us to safety next year. If he does stay, i hope i am wrong

Are some of you lot having a laugh! Seriously, you should be grateful for what you have, because plenty of other fans of other clubs would love the opportunity you have.

If you want to know what real pain and suffering is then take a second to get your head around what it is like for your opponents today - 4 seasons in a row we end up being jilted at the alter! whilst throwing the season away, in such a dismissive way and we now face losing our star player in Nugent and in all reality we may never be in this situation again and even though we may not be a big club, we are still one of the founder member of this great game of ours and with a history that is to be respected.

Tell you what is hard, standing with thousands of passionate PNE fans, with our hearts at rock bottom and feeling dejected at the final whistle, yet still find it within ourselves to clap your manager and every single player in a blue shirt, off the pitch - with the feeling that we would absolutely love just one shot at the Premiership, even if it was just for one season and we never returned.

It's a tough game this, yet we still return with that belief that 'hey you never know, it could be our season'.

All the best in your campaign next season.

Know exactly what you mean. Seen it, done it and been there. It's hard to miss out on the play offs and in the play offs themselves. It's even harder when you're own manager contributes to your team's downfall. Step forward Francis and take a bow

Good luck next year. You've a good manager there **thumbup

It's good to see someone talking sense. I just wish a few of our fans would take note.

its all relative though isn't it, we could have gone up as Champions, we didn't and now we are disappointed. I think we have every right to be disappointed on the back of a dismal first half performance. If we had given up the title but had put in a performance like the one when we were down to 10 men last weekend I don't think we would feel so bad.

Anyway we had five years of playoff disappointment so no-one can come on here trying to tell us how it feels

Hope it feels better in the morning or no-one will bother to turn up for the 'celebrations' in town tomorrow

Fair play to Sunderland, they went for it and got it

how come everyone else seemed to be scoring for fun today when just a 1-0 would have done us :banghead:
