I know that there have been posts about this subject on the prices frozen thread, but I feel that us 5 year season ticket holders have a different opinion on this years prices. I cannot believe what I'm hearing ... those of us that bust a gut to buy a five year season ticket 5 years ago, are now having to pay full price for the 07/08 season (when almost everyone else is getting 20% discount) - where is our 'thank you' for the loyalty shown over the last 5 years (regardless of what league we were in)?? Not even the 'standard' 20% that everyone else is getting. From what I understand it's going to cost me £520 for this season sitting in the OG - this is a disgrace!! I just don't know what to make of it all, when every other club is reducing their prices (or freezing them), us loyal 5 year-ers are being shafted! What can we do about it? Comments please! |

Bite the bullet barmy. Don't renew. You might not like it, but you can get the odd seat ( or two) in different areas of the ground, match by match. It may be harder than last year, but we will only sell out for a couple of matches. And if you have a holiday, or whatever and have to miss a match or two, you won't be greatly out of pocket. **thumbup |

Have you actually spoke to the club about this and how much you'll be paying?? Got on the phone to them or e-mail them, I know its blues but if you dont get the 20% discount I will be shocked. Some people I go with sometimes brought a 5 year season ticket 5 years ago as well and there obviously renewing theres and I'm shocked that you at least wont get the 20% discount like everyone else. |

I didn't take up ther 5 year option at the time - much to my dismay, chosing only the 2 year deal. I have just renewed my ticket for next year ( @20% discount) and my brothers ticket (same patron number) is shown as being available at the same rate as mine - maybe by going on-line the discount will be already applied? Bit of a shambles, eh? wtf** |

I haven't spoken with them, but someone I know that had a 5 year ticket for the Tilton has today renewed and spent 2 hours going from pillar to post before being told that there's nothing that can be done, and that he had to pay the full price or go without. |

So you had 4 years in the Premiership paying Championship prices (about £280 if I remember correctly) and now your unhappy about paying full price? Those who were lucky enough to be able to buy a 5 year ticket last around have been subsidised by the rest of us for the last 5 years with high ticket prices. I get 20% off this season and will enjoy it while it lasts as next year I'll be paying full price I imagine. It was a 5 year discounted season ticket not life. next people will be saying people who worked for the Rover should get free ST's too! We'll I've been put in a 3 month consultation period today and will lose my job very soon - can I have my ticket free please? It's harsh - but I'm not sure what you are moaning about IMO. |

Actually as I remember, Blues were grateful for us 5 year season ticket holders, because it gave them an up front cash injection which they used to buy players ... remember too that we made the decision to buy a five year ticket before we even knew that we were going into the Prem! I don't think I'm asking or expecting much, but at least what everyone else is getting would be fair! |

I think it might be a case of trying to get hold of someone abit higher up than the people in the ticket office or phone Tom Toss or something and see if they can help because personally I find that completely ridiculous. You should be given the 20% discount and I dont see how anyone can disagree with that. |

I can see what you mean BB - but a 5 year discounted ST does what it says on the tin. I renewed early last year on the proviso I ge the 20% off this year and I'll be damned if don't get it this year - but I do not under any circumstances expect to get it next year. Will you want more money off next year. Don't get me wrong I don't doubt your commitment for 1 second. |

Tim - I can't believe you're criticising a loyal Bluenose who's shown his support by giving the club 5 years worth of his hard earned dosh in advance. He's not asking for a further discount or favourable treatment - just the same deal as other ST holders are getting. IMO it's another sign of the contempt the powers that be hold for loyal supporters. "no" |

I cant believe it, fans like blues_barmy are the kind of fans this club needs to keep if it is going to go anywhere in the long-term and if this is the way you want to treat loyal fans like blues_barmy then you wonder whats going on in the board room and how they make ludicrus decisions like this. :banghead: ..and people wonder why fans in the last couple of years have given up on going to watch them. |

Blues_barmy is my daughter (adult) and we both feel really let down by blues policy to screw loyal fans. £520 is really excessive, many clubs are reducing prices for goodness sake. I think we have a big decision to make renew at £520 putting us both in the red with our bank A/Cs or watching blues on the TV. Not happy! :banghead: |

tin hat on! I have been a season ticket holder for more than 5 years and this year is the first year I will be getting a discount. I buy a season ticket every year because I go to every home game ( and one or two away) and it is cheaper to buy a season ticket than buy a ticket for every match. It also means that I get the same seat every game and get to know the people around me (we even exchange xmas cards now). I do not think I am any more of a "loyal supporter" than anybody else who sits in the stadium. Financially I am better of with a season ticket even at these prices so therefore I am going to renew. If It was not financially worth my while I would not. over the last 5 years I have spent more on tickets that people who took the five year option (I would have taken it but cash was tighter then than know), but less than people who attended the same amount of matches as I without a season ticket. I do not expect the club to pin a medal on my chest and thank me. I do not expect them to reward me in any way as a "loyal supporter" because I am no more loyal than any one who has made The Blues their club. I am just somebody who does what he does but watches the pennies. If it became too expensive I would not do it. My point in all this (and this is when people are going to get stroppy) if we want success and all that goes with it then you and I the supporter are going to pay for it be it through ticket prices or ever inflating sky subscription charges. If you don't want to pay that is your right but if you don't plenty will and you know this. Therefore have the club really got their prices wrong or are we just being a bit naive? If everybody was happy they would have missed out on many thousands of pounds. CP |

I'd tend to agree. However I do feel some sympathy for the ladies who have forked out for 5 years in advance, surely they should be entitled to the 20% ? Has the club confirmed whether they are or are not ? |

You have had a discounted ST for five years, whilst no one knew Four of them were to be in the Prem, your loyalty was obviously rewarded, however your five years are up now, in the same light , who was to know we would be starting next season in the Premiership Unfortunatley it's swings and roundabouts , you knew it was coming to an end |

Please don’t mention loyalty and BCFC in the same sentence, my reward for a two year renewal in the main stand was for my seat to be taken away and used for people to munch prawn sarnies. It did prompt a wry smile when I used to receive mail encouraging me to renew my season ticket headed ‘Keep your precious seat’. KRO Sheffield Blue |

Thank you for all of your posts (most of which are understanding of my grievance). As for the few that think I've already had my reward over the five years and that I should pay the full price this year - well I just don't understand - you're obviously not putting yourselves in my shoes ... once again I reiterate, I'm not asking for miracles or anything extraordinary, just the same 20% discount that everyone else that had a season ticket last year are receiving. I also take the point that I'm so far getting this information second hand, and may well be flying off the handle unnecessarily, but I plan to call the Ticket office today or Tuesday, and get the facts, as soon as I do, I will post again and let you all know. BTW - I'd still be interested to hear from other 5 year ST holders - I'm sure there's more than just me and my Mom :) |

I hope you manage to get something sorted to your satisfaction, because paying 5 years up front shows a loyalty and should be rewarded in the same way as those of us who renewed last year and have got the 20% discount. I really hope that this is an oversight by the club and that they will rectify it. **thumbup |

Absolutely. The discount was for five years. You take your chance for year 6 onwards. By default the price would revert to 100% from then. Yes the club were grateful for your money up front but in return you got a hefty discount. Count yourself lucky you enjoyed the Prem Years phase 1 cheaply. The rest of us paid full whack. |

My view too - although perhaps a nice compromise would have been to ask the 5-year ST holders, at the begining of last season, if they were prepared to renew for a further extended period when their 5-years were up, and offered a discount on that. A bit like a roll-over contract. It would at least have given them the same opportunities as others. Seems that I'm one of the few fans who is paying full adult price next season who is delighted that the price is the same as I paid two years ago. Cant think of too many things in life that haven't gone up in price over a similar period. I would never be in a position to buy a five-year ticket up front, and it was only at Christmas that I knew that I could buy a half year ST this season. Fortunately I am in a position to renew for next season, and was expecting a price increase. I'm grateful that hasn't happened. Perhaps everyone who has been fortunate enough to afford to buy and qualify for some form of discount or another in the past, should be happy for what they've had rather than moaning about what they are not getting next season. |

spot on Bluediver I couldn't agree more. You had your discount we had ours I would think that on balance you saved more money than we did. I am sorry but what do you want? to be rewarded for taking a discount?????? Everything comes to an end sometimes and your just upset that you missed out on your bit of pie. Sorry folks I just don't see your argument, put in your shoes I would have nothing to moan about. Now my tin hat is well and truly on. CP. |
