I really am flabbergasted at the lack of support I’m receiving on this subject, but you are all entitled to your opinions. I just can’t believe you would begrudge me the 20% discount that for instance Mr X is getting after having only supported the Club last year (btw I don't begrudge Mr X getting his discount).

Mr X bought a ST with the promise of 20% off, you bought yours 5 years ago at a fixed price for 5 years, that was the deal and it's been honoured

I agree with you blues-barmy. By having the 5 year ticket you shelled out a lot of money in advance. I feel that because 5-year season ticket holders had season tickets for this year then they should get the 20% discount for next year, because it was this year's tickets that the board was asking people to commit to in order to get the discount.

I have no worries about you already receiving a discount for the 5 years, because it does not affect me. If I could have afforded it, I would have bought one myself.

you don't start supporting the club when you buy a season ticket you start when you either make the choice or you are born into it. a season ticket just means you have a ticket to go to the games not a divine right to special treatment. We don't have differing degrees of fans I hope.

I also agree to a point because, I would not begrudge you getting the discount if they decided to do it but, I can see both arguments.

I'm not asking for miracles or anything extraordinary, just the same 20% discount that everyone else that had a season ticket last year are receiving.

i can kind of understand where youre coming from, as effectively any season ticket holder who purchased before june last year should be discounted.

are you saying though, that if there was no 20% reduction, and everyone was paying full price, youd be happy to pay full price too? or that youd still expect a discount because you had a 5 year ticket?

i can see arguments for both sides of the coin, but tbh if someone who has had a ticket last year gets 20%, and youve had one for 5 years, you should in theory get that too - so i lean towards your side of the fence.

i hope you get it - but something tells me you probably wont ... :boohoo:

good luck though, and keep us posted.

BTW - I wouldn't mind at all paying full price (if everyone else were paying full price).

I know that there have been posts about this subject on the prices frozen thread, but I feel that us 5 year season ticket holders have a different opinion on this years prices.

I cannot believe what I'm hearing ... those of us that bust a gut to buy a five year season ticket 5 years ago, are now having to pay full price for the 07/08 season (when almost everyone else is getting 20% discount) - where is our 'thank you' for the loyalty shown over the last 5 years (regardless of what league we were in)?? Not even the 'standard' 20% that everyone else is getting.

From what I understand it's going to cost me £520 for this season sitting in the OG - this is a disgrace!! I just don't know what to make of it all, when every other club is reducing their prices (or freezing them), us loyal 5 year-ers are being shafted!

What can we do about it?

Comments please!

Hate to say it mate..but lets face it you bought a 5 year deal to capitilse on cheap seats anyway..you cant say that it wasnt great value anyway! Its like asking for student discount in a clothes shop that already has a sale on! its a no go!

But as the deal was for those who purchased season tickets for this year, I think she has a valid point, because that is exactly what she did.

No, the 20% discount was for those who bought a full priced season ticket this year, which she didn't. It was like the club saying they knew they were charging us over the odds for championship football so hopefully the 20% discount would make up for it.

I can see where you're coming from blues_barmy but i agree with the club on this one. You're basically asking for a double discount.

Great news (for me anyway), both myself and my Mom have now renewed our season ticket for 07/08 season, and we have been given the 20% discount - no arguments.

I think I need to apologise, because I seem to have listened to what ppl have said without getting the facts first. I now have the facts, and can confirm that us 5 year season ticket holders will get the 20% discounted price if you renew for 07/08.

IMO the club has got this right.

Absolutely. The discount was for five years. You take your chance for year 6 onwards. By default the price would revert to 100% from then.

Yes the club were grateful for your money up front but in return you got a hefty discount.

Count yourself lucky you enjoyed the Prem Years phase 1 cheaply. The rest of us paid full whack.

Regardless of what I've said I'm very pleased for you although I think the club might have been able to wriggle out of it legally.

Your guardian angel has been reading your posts.

spot on Bluediver I couldn't agree more. You had your discount we had ours I would think that on balance you saved more money than we did. I am sorry but what do you want? to be rewarded for taking a discount?????? Everything comes to an end sometimes and your just upset that you missed out on your bit of pie. Sorry folks I just don't see your argument, put in your shoes I would have nothing to moan about.

Now my tin hat is well and truly on.

CP.

Absolute rubbish, if anyone had a season ticket however long it is for, for last season, they should be able to renew for next season at the 20% discount rate end of.

all these so called discounts are totally confusing....

at the start of the season there was no way i was paying over 500 quid for my season ticket in the fizzy pop league, so the club wrote to me and i took the 10% off........which i thought was fair...

and some fans i presume paid full price, so now are getting their 20% off this season .......which is fair....( but in reality you are only getting 10% this season , because the club had your dosh last season)

AND NOW ....the club have said that all season tickets wil be held in price , the same as last season.....

but i will in fact, i will be paying 50 quid more for my ticket this season because of the 10% off last season..... :LMAO: :LMAO: :LMAO:

and brady is a top class buisness woman..... :LMAO:

we're troublesome about 20% discount worth approximately £120 !

Spare a thought for a number of people from Leeds who shelled out for 20 year season tickets at the height of their Champions League sucess, who now have no idea if the new company set up by Ken Bates will honour their remaining 15 - 16 years that they've paid for ! Legally as a new company they are jot obliged to, it really will come down to how much goodwill Ken Bates has ?

Dont get me wrong, you'd have to be cracked in the head to buy a 1 year yet alone a 20 year season ticket for Leeds, but you have to feel for them !

Anyway, back to Blues, pay on the day again for me i thinks, never missed my season ticket (for the first time in a decade) this year, doubt i'll miss it next !

I agree with the last post! I think buying a 5 yr ST is a big mistake! So what would of happened if we had got relegated this season (Not realistic i know) you would of been paying stupid amounts of money to be watching League 1 football!

5 yr ST would be great if you knew what league you was going to be in! 5 yrs guranteed in the premiership would be worth paying out the large some of money! But your always going to get the same seat every single year because we are not in the same situation as Newcastle where they need to wait until someone dies or does not renew to become a ST holder!

Think about it..........

PREMIER LEAGUE HERE WE COME!!!!

No i never as i didn't renew my ST last season, i paid game by game instead so i won't qualify for it either, but the club should give the 5 year ST's holders the 20% discount, they probably showed more loyalty then the 1 and 2 year ST holders < <

Just to clarify the 20% discount is only applicable for those supporters who opted for the frozen price offer for the 2006/07 season and to obtain a 20%discount for the 2007/08 season.

As you are all aware the club has frozen it's prices for another season and this applies to all other ticket holders.

The 20% discount is not appicable to supporters who have previously held 5 year season tickets who have already benefitted from substantial discounts ( over 45% in total).

You are spot on.

You received a terrific benefit over that period, as you were lucky enough to be able to afford a 5 year ticket.

Buying a 5 year ticket is comendable but you have had a discounted benefit well in excess of those being enjoyed by others.

I think some people will moan about everything and anything.

I will buy an ST at what is a very high price in Australian dollars. For that I will only get to a few games and maybe a couple of mates may do likewise over the season.

But I'm so excited we are back inthe Premiership, it is worth every cent of the cost.

Renew your ticket, be proud and get behind the team.
