Scroll down and look at the pic of the wednesday fan after all that brick throwing, i think the article is unfair tho, it makes it seem like it was just us and we started it all? what you think?

Most of the articles I have seen have made it out to be completely Blues fans fault but I think it was abit from both fans, but you do wonder if anything had happened had the Wednesday fans not pushed open the gates to the away coach area, they could of just stood around and/or got onto their coaches.
Then again you could have said the same about the thousands of Blues fans that stood around watching, when as I did, they could of just walked straight past like I did.

I spoke to a mate of mine last Saturday night and he said the Wednesday fans kicked it off because we had ended their playoff hopes. He and a load of others had shielded some children from the debris being hurled by Wednesday fans. They just kicked off. He said Blues fans did retaliate and throw stuff back at them but on the whole it was Wednesday fans.

When I made my way home the coaches were leaving at 6.30 and there was only 1 patch of glass in the car park. 1 patch too many but still, it only looked like 1 coach window's worth so Wednesday reports of trashed coaches is exaggerated.

Violence is never necessary but to read that with all those people slating Blues is hypocritical especially as there is an element at every club. I have travelled home and away with Blues for 12+ years and have never seen any violence, anywhere. Just my experience.

From what I have seen on numerous occasions at St Andrews is away fans giving it loads verbally then moaning to the stewards/ police when they get it back. Some of the chants by away fans are down right abusive, they don't complain about the swearing when it is them giving it but as soon as they go behind or get it back they moan.

Violence is unacceptable on all occasions but there is absolutely no proof that the injuries inflicted on that bloke in the picture in the link were caused by Blues fans. None at all.

As for the wolves fan pitching in with his opinion, I was once told by a Wolves ST holder I worked with not to bother travelling to their place as they wee in cups and throw them at away fans, the threat of violence is always there and all sorts of other stuff.

Not quite 12 years, but I too haven't seen any trouble - although Cardiff away came close this season.

Totally agree, although most of the response seems to be (from what I've seen) from "Chavs". I have to walk past the away carpark every home game to get to my car, and there are always loads of "Chavs" (from both sets of supporters) goading etc. What's the point. ??

I must say that Wolves away the other week surprised me - no trouble (that I saw), and no cups thrown down from above.
Two of us - wearing Blues shirts, walked from the away end, through the infamous underpass into the town centre to get to our cars. No trouble whatsoever.

I guess if you want it that bad, you will find it. Personally, I don't, and have had many drinks and decent conversations with "home" fans at every away game this season - even drinking in "home only" pubs after games if I've stayed over. 98% of all fans are great, and love football. The other 2% simply are not interested in the football side at all, which is very sad.

C.

The most annoying thing about that link is if Wednesday fans had caused damage and injury to Blues fans with no reprisals they'd be boasting about battering us. They gave it out, didn't like taking it back and are now crying about it.

There were children leaving the home section of St Andrews on Saturday but no Wednesday fans have shown concern for them.

I went to the pub on the corner of Tilton Road after the game which is why I was walking past the away enclosure as the coaches left at 6.30. Now, I can't comment on the events I didn't see but there were very few Blues fans around at that point, I saw 1 patch of glass in the away car park and there were bits of brick all over the Cov Road outside the away enclosure. Make of that what you will but for others to blame Blues and accept np blame themselves is pathetic. It is easy to blame Blues fans as we still carry the reputation of past lunatics.

If Wednesday had simply got onto their coaches I fully suspect nothing would have kicked off. What we have to look at is the circumstances surrounding the trouble. We had just won, this was our 23rd home league game of the season, we were on the brink of promotion and this is the first instance of violence we have heard of all season. Now, loking at the whole picture and not condoning any behaviour, I know who I am likely to point the finger at.

No we didn't do that to a fan ... it was a copper who did that ... and the fan himself has never claimed it was a Blues fan responsible ...

if you go to http://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/index.php...pic=51360&st=40

and look at the post at "Apr 28 2007, 09:59 PM" by GJC1979 he says "well ive just got back from birmingham with 4 stitches in my head due to her majesty's finests batton weilding technique, fantastic day out...........................not!!!"

linked from there is this pic of the bloke himself grinning afterwards (when the blood has been wiped off) see here : http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h42/monk...ck/Image207.jpg

definitely the same bloke as in the pic BCFC Sam has linked too with loads of blood.

Interestingly if you read that Owls messageboard most of the Sheffield fans blame their own fans for most of the trouble

Also see the post on The Owls board of

"I was talking to one of the superviser stewards from Birmingham in the car park whilst we waited for the Police to sort things out and he said it was the Birmingham fans that had caused all the trouble.

He also said that he'd seen what had happened with the lad who'd had his head cracked open by a Policeman's baton as well as his mates elbow being gashed in the same fashion."

and

"for those who were walking past the away section later on - trust me, they threw bricks at least 4 or 5 times before any blues fan threw one back - and i saw a few young girls crying, and a lad checking out a nasty cut/bruise on his ankle"

Remember these are SHEFFIELD fans posting and admitting to the trouble (not a Bluenose's version)

Thanks, Rags...

I was at New St Station around 12:15, and there were plenty of Sheff W fans there talking about trouble and where to find it. None obviously SW fans at first sight, but hanging around Burger King waiting for northern Blues to arrive, accents and my big ears  couldn't help but hear what they were on about.....

Oh My God Did We Actually Do This To Some Fans?

WE ?

Are you mad?
Them, they, scum did that. Not WE.
Not Blues fans.
Just scum that hang around blues.
If they were fans they'd know that this rubbish is going to hurt the club. So they aren't fans. They are just stupid. And they are THEY.

Not WE.

Well seems like it was a policeman did the wounding doesnt it??

I wonder if he will be reported

I remember the words of a certain Talksport reporter after the Sevilla Tottenham encounter "the Spanish police were despicable, uncontrollable just wading in indiscriminately with their batons, we should demand an apology you wouldnt see our boys doing that" :LMAO: :LMAO:

Oh no???

It would be nice now to put this to bed. I walk past the away fans after every game and I can honestly say that I have not even seen a punch thrown in anger. The police do the right thing by letting fans merge and generally people just slink away. Blues hooligan firm and others do have a code when innocents are not attacked as I am sure you will have all seen away fans in their tops walking all the way to town without a bother.
However, the sheff game was differently all together. As we were walking down, you could see coins and stones coming from the sheff car park and as we were walking past the away entrance more coins were coming out. Well, if they thought i and the others around me were going to stand there and let them injure my son and other young kids, they were mistaken. Most of us adults confronted those coming out to stop them throwing stuff and they retreated back into the compound. The police made the right decision to bash a few wednesday heads who were throwing stuff and correctly lock the gates as by now the whole scene was ambushed by the "chav" brigade. What happened after I don't know as me and my son walked away and went home.
It's a long time since I have seen away fans behave like that - totally disgusting

I'm sorry to have to say this, but it was just as much the Blues' fans as it was Sheffield fans. Some of our fans, as soon as they entered the car park from the ground, began throwing things over the metal fence into the Sheffield fans. Others were running up to the fence, jumping at it and spitting over.

The first bricks I saw thrown came from the Blues' fans outside. At first the fans were just goading each other until the bricks were thrown, then both sets of supporters began throwing bricks, followed by Blues fans trying to charge the gate and then Sheffield fans trying to break out, which they almost did.

I don't know what happened after this because I just kept on walking, as most sensible fans should have done. There were even Blues fans laughing at what was going on and recording it on their mobile phones.

Both sets of supporters were to blame, and all who paticipated brought shame on their respective clubs.

I did witness some people throwing bricks from outside the compound - the street- I won't call them Blues fans but the Wednesday fans were being total idiots. the police did what they had to do and controled the siduation well but the thought did cross my mind as why they didn't just shut the gate. Anyway no one needs this sort of rubbish and people should just grow up. :banghead:

It goes on every week at every ground in every par of the country.
every team every town has its thugs

What I would like to say to the Wednesday fans and all the goaders from other clubs slagging blues is that the 3 coach loads of Wednesay fans I saw near Digbeth makin the driver let them off so they could mooch down to the city centre and surrounding pubs looking for a bit of aggro were all very innocent and just wanting to talk and swap footy stories!!!!!

, and the fans still on coaches turning into the ground up at the windows running fingers accross throats and making censored - er signs and suggesting we should "come on then" out the windows were totally innocent and I would ike to commend them on their small northern town mentality and hope we dont have to run into them again.

Reall gets to me when they all start slagging people off, Im afraid Iw as directly outside the gates as the Sheff fans rushed it and barged it open, no the blues fans.

and I saw missiles being thron out from their crown before anything was thrown back. and one of the lads I was with very nearly got caught on the bonce. So lets not have wich hunts and blamie just on us

Anyway, bye bye sheff wed, burnley, wolves stoke and all the rest slating us on that post.

Coz, ahem, were off to the PREM

We have a rep that is second to none and are fans keep it going....I was not there against S Wed but have been for most games.........I can only put it down to the so called growing rep of the Sheff Wed firm who got caught out.
If you go onto there web /forum page all you will here is how we could not get out and the police stopped us etc.

They are supressed and have nothing else to do...

Its not always are fault but we will always react.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They started it and could not continue it...............as i here.
