Yeah lets give Bruce and the players credit for the turn around and getting promoted, even if you could argue they played themselve into a tough situation by wasting a near 10 point lead. Bruce could of walked when things got tough, but he stuck with it and this season at least it paid off. Ok, this last game and not going up champions is a downer, but hey we are still up. Bring on the viler! I've never been the type of fan to get on the managers or players back during a game, only afterwards. Just think it's counter-productive and better to give them encouragement and support while they can still make a difference. If the board are going to stick by Bruce like they suggest, I just hope his managerial style will be what we need to be successful and stay up. I'm sure the board are asking him what he plans to do to make sure last season doesn't happen again. Lets be honest, as good as coming second in the Championship, Blues haven't played good football the last few seasons. Yeah OK, playing good footy doesn't win you games, but you can bet all the premiership clubs are going to be looking to improve for next season and Blues can't afford to be left behind. I just hope they can address the current short-comings of the team, I'm sure everyone has their view as to what they are and why. Hopefully Bruce and the board can introduce a bit more creativity, movement, pace and tactical awareness at Blues. Hopefully stop overusing that long ball that so often gives away possession. You see glimpses of good footy from some players though, just as a team we seem to have to need the spaces to open up by themselves as the game gets stretched, rather than create our own. Maybe why the long ball is used so much? |

It's Steves achilles heel and in my opinion he will never change. Next season we will be same, very scrappy performances trying not to lose. But saying that lets see who he signs in the summer. |

Thanks for this year lads. After 10 minutes it was obvious what we were playing for. Timid management yet again. Thanks lads anyway, it wasn't your fault. |

Timid management when we had 4 strikers on the pitch, Bendtner, McSheffrey, Jerome, Campbell? I don't call that timid. I call that positive, attacking management. It's not Bruce's fault that the players messed up in front of goal. |

Well what about the first half an hour when we diabolical, couldn't pass, Preston looked more comfortable like alot of teams have done against us this season. |

I think it was expected that we would lose considering jonty would be let on the pitch and struggle to even contribute yet be given the captains armband cynism by the players imo |

From the start? Don't be silly, it was the game plan, hold them and go for the win late on. Boring, predictable nonsense. We've tried that and got suckered by everyone from Norwich to Burnley. The 4 strikers came on after Sunderland ( who had gone for it with courage and bravery from the start) went 3-0 up. Timid at the outset, desperate at the end. Surely you must recognise that ? |

I recognise that we had enough chances to win the game. It was obvious that Preston would be at us from the start and we did not play well then, but we came back into the game and should have won. I still say that the substitutions showed an attacking strategy. |

The stats will say that the only team to finish above us after 46 games took 1 point off us in two games. the objective this season was promotion. we have achieved that who knows what the next few weeks will bring, who knows who we will sign, despite what some on here would have you beleive its all doom and gloom its not there is a lot to look forward to. |

Well done lads. Promotion was the aim, and promotion was achieved. A nice shiny trophy would've been the icing on the cake, but that was not to be. Enjoy your holidays, and look forward to next season's fixture list full of all the biggest names in the game. |
