since MC Sheff came to the club i have wanted him playing as an out and out striker,
as a winger i don't think he has enough defensive nous about him,
he makes it very difficult for his left back,
that just my opinion of course,
how do you see his future position.

Give him heading practise, then play him upfront :)

One thing about Mcsheffery, he aint no winger, thats for sure. We need a new out and out Left sided player and let Mc Sheffery try to fight for one of the strikers position.
Do you remember when he scored all his goals, he finished the last 30 minutes up front. :banner:

Best player in the league acording to Actim. I'd leave him where he is.

OMG how fickle? If he had buried one of his two sitters today, he'd be a hero (especially if we were sitting here as league champions)

Macca is a talented player. He hasnt got a good enough physical presence to be regarded as a striker IMO but he is a decent left winger! Get off the guys back! He was everyones favourite when he kept scoring every week

I don't see the point in putting him upfront when he can score and do just as good a job on the left wing. This is where he gets most of his goals... not from strike but from the left wing.

see some are missing the point again ,not having a go at him just saying he is not effective as a left winger, does not give the left back enough protection, would he be strong enough as an out and out striker, thats the debate, maybe with a big striker he could be good.

i'm being harsh aint i?

i'll retract what i said, McSheff deserves major credit for his BIG contribution this season, i'm sure if he kept up the goal-scoring form he'd be player of the season.

i hope he has a big season next season

Sheffers if you're reading, thank you :banner:

to be honest, he's been dreadful ever since Christmas.

He's stopped running at players and you can see the belief isn't there which was there before Christmas.

However, that's Birmingham City. We take good players and ruin them.

It's called coaching. I reckon we could sign Thierry Henry and in six months he'd be playing like Lennie Henry.

I have a mate who is a coventry fan and he said Mc sheff would blow hot and cold during the season which in truth we all must agrue he has.
Now comes the stage in his career where he must now up his game 150% and try to play at that Level all next season. If tha did happen, well who knows what next season could bring for him.

I don't think I've ever seen a players form drop as badly as Mcsheffrey's has this season, his lack of defensive ability could always be over looked because of his attacking play and goals, but he really has been shocking since he came back from injury, not taking people on, missing great chances, leaving the LB in trouble, I hope it's just a blip but we definitely need cover for him, I would give him a chance upfront in pre season, but we need his attacking flair in midfield, I hope after a nice long summer he will be back to the Sheffers that looked so dangerous when he first came here.

personally i would play him as LCAM, and get a more orthodox LM.

McSheff does so well bursting through the centre of midfield and he'll run at people
