Can anyone remember what DS said a few months back? That if we gain promotion he was gonna go on a spending spree thats what.

I sure hope he didnt mean clothes shopping. His taste in hats is appalling.

Hopefully hell do the right thing and put his money where his mouth is. I think we need an additional 5-6 quality players bringing in to help us get 17th spot next season.

so Sully says, 4 to 5 quality signings,no mistakes like last time,
Karren Brady saying ,no big money signings ,we must cut our cloth accordingly,
Bruce saying,we will buy to suit our budget,

you just know whats on the way ,
we have seen it year after year,
hope im wrong.

We need to buy players that will not only strengthen the team but also fit into our(boring) style of play so if we buy 5 players,I don't expect us to pay big money for them.
The way I see it,we need a keeper, left back,2 centre halfs,2 forwards and a midfield player but can't see it happening somehow.

Not true we made the big name signings last time in the Prem and most of them were rubbish.

Ordinary folk like us can see money has to be spent wisely, why can't so called top rate managers. We don't want has-beens, we need quality players.

Bruce has come out and said he can't afford to pay Andy Cole's 25k salary.

They won't be going on a spending spree.

Prepare for frustration.

I think the board should make their intentions clear now, instead of trying to confuse everyone. I won't be given the same thing again, I'll just keep on distancing myself from the club.

I read into that comment that those wages would not be spent on a player of that age........lessons learnt from last season.

thats how i read it,
they would have to buy out his contract and stump up a big salary, not worth it.

:applause: :applause: correct, dont think its lessons learnt it just doesnt make financial sense simple as.

Also look at Chelsea and how much they have splashed out on some very ordinary looking players, its not how much you spend but how you spend it.

Everyone keeps saying Cole is a great professional - So surely at 36 he realises that his first team days in the Prem are over.

He now has 3 choices.

1.Drop down a division, take a drop in wages and get first team football on a more regular basis.

2. Move into a palyer/coach role to stay in the Prem again he'd probably have to reduce his wage demands

3. Sit on his backside at Portsmouth for 12 months

If he's the man he's made out to be option 3 would be a no go.
