Quite a good idea. Fans owning the club.

From the BBC:

Quote:

MyFootballClub aims to take control of a club
A website aimed at recruiting 50,000 fans to take over a football club has attracted over 13,000 members in the fortnight since its launch.

MyFootballClub wants people to pay £35 in a bid to raise £1.4m to buy a team, with each member an equal partner.

Members will have a vote on transfers, player selection and all major decisions affecting the club.

Actual site where you can register and nominate the club you want to buy.Leeds are top at the moment. :LMAO:

Aren't some of the foreign clubs owned like that?
It's a fairly good idea, but a team like Leeds is a no due to the fact that they aren't in the best financial position

voting on team selection and on which players to buy and sell.

So do they want to own the clubor manage it? Are 50,000 people going to stand on the touch line shouting instructions?

If you take a cross-section of five people sat infront of their computers now and told them to pick their first eleven for the Blues I'd wager none of them would agree. How on earth do they expect 50,000 to be able to?

simple majority?

Not rocket science really is it?

I like the idea - even though it's serious, it's a bit of fun - It's like a real life championship mamanger.

I for one have spent over £35 on Championship manager games in the past.

I've registered. Tamworth was my pick.

Don't think so.

If its going to be democracy driven, then the running committeee, or whatever will be voted on. And they don't get to stay forever, just as in many Spanish clubs, big talk and no delivery get them voted out.

I'd love it to succeed.
Start at a lower club, like Tamworth or even Nuneaton.

I'm sure Leeds are ahead in the voting so that they can be run even further down.
