Alright, just for fun lets pretend Brucey does completely lose his marbles and puts Kapo and Muamba in midfield without a holding player.

Who tracks Lampard? Who tracks Essien? Who presses Mikel? We have two players in the middle, neither of whom are defensively minded, against Chelsea who will not only have an extra body, but will be playing three in there with more quality than our players.

Play Kapo and Muamba and it doesn't matter how many strikers we have on the pitch, they'll never see the ball.

Isn't Muamba the holding midfielder?

Still I think a 4-5-1 is inevitable.

Also it seems Parnaby, De Ridder, Djourou and Queudrue are set to start.

Muamba's like Savage, he runs around. He doesn't sit infront of the back four and play a disciplined, steady role. He'd get booed if he did.

Playing a two man central midfield, especially when one of those players is the offensive-minded Kapo, when our centre backs probably only met each other yesterday, is a recipe for absolute disaster.

Even so.. since when have you known Bruce to play 1 Attacking midfielder in the middle, let alone 2..

I'd play Nafti along side Kapo but i suppose it will be Nafti and Muamba just to battle. Theres one big problem with that and it's the fact that neither Nafti and Muamba are great passers of the ball, and in my opinion it doesn't matter whether your a holding defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder, in the centre of the park you have to be able to get the ball down and pass it and i think we'll struggle unless we change that.

Thats just my opinion mind.

I really hope that we go to Chelsea tomorrow and have a good go at taking all 3 points. I know it will be difficult but I hope we go for the win and not go to try and get a draw, allthough that would be a great result. I would like us to go and play without fear and not be humbled by megga rich and media favorites Chelsea. I`d rather Blues give it their all, and loose than go down with a whimper. Who knows if we have a good go we could come back with something, AND THAT WOULD BE GREAT ! :applause: :banner: :Blues: COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS !!!!!!!!

11th August 2007

Gary McSheffrey is tipping Birmingham City to provide the shock result of the opening Barclays Premiership programme by beating Chelsea this afternoon.

The Birmingham forward believes Jose Mourinho's team could be vulnerable without skipper John Terry and top striker Didier Drogba.

"If there is ever a good time to go to Stamford Bridge, this could be it," he reasoned. "All right, they will have top-class replacements for Terry and Drogba, but they are influential players — the England captain and the European Golden Boot winner.

"I remember when Wigan played Chelsea on the opening day the season before last. They lost 1-0 to a great Hernan Crespo goal but played really well and probably should have won. We can go there under no pressure but excited about being in the Premiership. We just might surprise them." (Daily Mail)

One of 2 things happen when we play Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea.
Either
1) We play rubbish
or
2) We play well and then get a player sent off 25 to 30mins into the game, as if the ref is trying to clip our wings.

Or am I just being completely paranoid?

Forget it. We don't have a hope in hell. No red cards in todays matches, Bennett will be just waiting for a chance to get his name in the papers.

Sunderland will be crucial for us . . . . I anticipate spurs shafting them today.

So we'll probably both meet on 0 points!

Could be the first 6 pointer of the season!

yes, i expect spurs to stuff them also, but i hope we get a tad little bit lucky against the chelski.

I actually thought that Sunderland looked no better than last season yesterday....they played at a high tempo as you would at home in front of a near full house....Spurs went up the believing there press & really need to up there game....

We would with the additions we have made have much more joy come Wednesday night against the Mackems !

Oh and for the record you can get Blues at 16/1 just to win :o Now dont get me wrong i`m not thinking we are actually going to win but strange things can happen so must be worth a two quidder.I`ve also had a little bet on The Forse being the first goalscorer @ 14/1 **thumbup
