In six weeks time Steve Bruce will become the blues post war longest serving manager.
He has gained 2 promotions and spent 4 years in the premiership, our most successful time in over 20 years.

Well Mr Bruce congratulations and lets hope you get the credit you deserve. You have secured a place in our history as one of our most successful managers and rightly so.

I hope he makes it. It will be a sign that we are doing well. It also shows that we have a very tolerant Board and that makes the club attractive employers to future managerial candidates.

Well done Brucie, you have gone through all the highs and the lows and you are still there. You have taken all the abuse you can imagine, but you have always found a way to fight your way bak into the hearts of the faithfull. You have never backed down from the challenge and for what you have done for our club, taking us to the prem, the fans will be eternally gratefull.

Well done, KRO.

I didn't realise that the record was so close. Thanks for that info. He really does have the bottle to succeed. I hope he does far more with us over the coming years. We'll see I guess.

Got to admit, I wanted him out after relegation and after the norwich defeat. However, he got us promoted playing awful football, whereas another manager may have played great football and we could be playing burnley tomorrow. I am also prepared not to get on his back come xmas, he deserves the full year. I've met brucey on a couple of occasions and like the majority of geordies, he's a top bloke. Here's to champions league football eh?
